I'll Say It
McDaniels is a good football coach. I really thought that team would be complete garbage this year and he’s overcome a lot to put together a good squad. I still think they’re overachieving right now, but they aren’t a bottom-feeder.

Predictions for 2009
1. Todd Haley's going to struggle with managing his staff in his rookie year as head coach.
6. The Chiefs will go 7-9 in 2009, good for 2nd in the AFC West. Revision: We go 5-11 and finish behind Oakland.
7. Ryan Succop will not perform better in 2009 than Connor Barth did in 2008.
8. The Chiefs will have a bottom 10 defense this year.
9. RB will be a problem area this season on offense.

I'm with you
I’m impressed. They’re playing solid ball. He has those guys ready every week.

Give some credit out to Mike Nolan also
He was rode out of SF but he’s done a fanstastic job with their 3-4 conversion. They really put together a good squad in just one off-season

Yes, He Has
I thought the guy was smoke-and-mirrors because his success came from being near Ray Lewis, but he’s done a very good job there. Wish the Chiefs had hired him.

I'm sick too
but it also shows how much we all underestimated what kind of team they inherited and how far ahead they are in terms of talent then KC is. McD inheritted an 8 or 9 win team. Haley a 2.
by golfbard on Oct 11, 2009 6:40 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
Bingo! Which they had even before McD was there

yeah
we whiffed big time on clady :/
I did notice that we strangely looked better once goff came out with an injury…then looked like crap when he came back in. Did anyone catch who came in for him?
by KCCheeze on Oct 11, 2009 6:48 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
I hate for someone to get injured
But if thats what it takes for Haley to see how bad Goff is, then so be it. Goff needs to go and I saw a markedly improved line with no Goff.

They shouldnt be cut any slack
because they were actually wise enough to invest in their line. They have bookend tackles (everyones favorite term here) and our castoff veteran center. There’s no reason we couldn’t have equally as solid a line, we just never drafted for it (and dont give me the endless list of jobbers we’ve drafted on the second day as proof we’ve invested)

I am happy for and impressed by
Josh McDaniels. He was receiving so much shit this off-season for his age but the guy is bloody brilliant. He makes Haley and his schtik look ridiculous in my opinion

Exactly.. How many times have we seen a draw play to a washed up RB to know it doesn't work?

You can be old school all you want
but if it doesn’t yield results it makes you look, well, old-school, outdated, and out-of-touch. I hope this whole season is a humbling experience for both Pioli & Haley. They need it

I Did Like His Comments Last Week
About how 4-0 isn’t going to win the division or get you into the playoffs. He keeps his eye on the prize. We’ll see how that looks in the second half of the season, though, once the league’s had a chance to adjust to his tactics.

LJ should not be used on draw plays period
he is not a stop and go back…he needs a full head of steam going into the line or he is done. Draws are for shifty backs like charles
by KCCheeze on Oct 11, 2009 6:46 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
Haley needs to do this once in a while
Or the D will know there will be a screen or draw when Charles is in and power I 2-3 gap runs when LJ is in. Thy and keep the D from keying in on the play with certain personnel is in.

As much as we dont like Denver
My hats off to them. All the shit that was said about them and all the offseason setbacks…they really are turning around. Good job Denver. Just stay ahead of SD now lol.

-1
I loath the Donkeys more than any other team in the league. I would rather see the Raiders succeed than them.
That being said, they have been playing well. I’ll bet they are glad they didn’t get rid of Marshall….

Probably So
That offense looked terrible in week 1 (they were saved by a fluke play) but each week they’ve looked better and better.

The Donks have had some serious breaks to get them to 5-0
Cincy obviously, and the same crap happened (without the TD) today. They had some key calls as well. The Chiefs cant catch a break. I thought today would be different with the turnovers, but I guess not.

well
Dallas was MUCH more penalized than us today, so that’s a positive (I guess). As for the other games, good teams get the benefit of the doubt, bad teams don’t.
I think we are going to see a lot of games like this over the rest of the year. Our toughest opponents are past us, so we should match up pretty well against the rest of the schedule. I think there are a few more tough losses ahead of us, but some nice wins too. I really hope that first win comes next week…losing these close games is painful.

Clark Hunt should be embarrassed!!
With Roger Goodell and all the former Chiefs in attendance and a crowd that was at least 50% Cowboy fans, I hope Clark loses some sleep tonight. In 40 years of Chiefs football, it’s been 30 years since, the home team had a disadvantage by it’s own crowd. I’m not so upset with the lost as I was with have 35-40,000 Cowboy fans in attendance. Shame on all Chiefs fans that gave their tickets away or sold their tickets to Cowboy fans. For Clark Hunt, shame on you for giving us a product where 35-40,000 Chiefs fans gave away or sold their tickets. What happened at Arrowhead off the field today was a disgrace to any Chiefs fan.

MIKE BROWN SHOULD BE EMBARRASSED!!!
Clark Hunt is not on the field nor are out coaches….PLAYERS MAKE PLAYS. Chiefs just didnt make enough today…Mike Brown should really learn how to tackle someone.

He Knows How To Tackle
He used to be a great safety. He just hasn’t got the physical tools to be able to keep up anymore.

credit denver, great job
and I love it since I hated cutler, I knew it was smart to move him and now they have all these talented young players
regardless, I love Cassel and we can get something going, we just have to clean house on the OL…plain and simple 20 knockdowns is stupid

Did anyone else notice
That the announcer starting announcing the cowboys names when they were coming out of the tunnel like they were the home team. I almost got up and walked out. What happened to out arrowhead? Oh yeah we can’t win a game.
