Expectations of the Chiefs: What is it Going to Take?

From the FanPosts. -Chris

Question of the day... What would it take for us, as fans, to be happy  (or at least not upset) with this weekend's performance???

Does it take a win?

What about a solid performance, free of major mistakes, still resulting in a loss?

Of course, the goal is to win every game.  Period.

The team shouldn't settle for less.  Ever.

As fans, though... we're looking for signs of improvement, signs of life, etc.

I personally had high hopes for the season, but after seeing the first three games, have had to go back and re-evaluate my expectations for 2009.

I expected a tough loss vs the Ravens....check

I expected a win vs the Raiders.... played well, didn't get it done...

I expected a loss vs Philly, and likely a blowout... check

I expect a loss vs the Giants

I expect to have a chance to win vs Dallas

I expect to have a chance to win vs Washington

I expect to have a chance to win vs San Diego

That being said, I was just thinking that IF the Chiefs come out fired up, and play WELL vs the Giants... would I be happy, even if it wasn't a win?

IF the OL plays well

IF they can run the ball effectively

IF they give Cassel time to throw, and he plays well

IF the defense stops the run, and doesn't get burned over the middle in the passing game

IF special teams avoids penalties and plays well

IF all of those things happen, but the Giants still pull out a victory, because they are a superior team at this point...

I think I will sleep ok, and feel like the Chiefs have a chance of meeting my expectations in the next 3 games, and have a chance of a successful season.
