It is going to be a long weekend.
As we all sit on pins a needle all weekend watching football. We all love to do it, but it keeps our mind on the fact the we still have no GM and Herm is still the coach. Our defense, unlike every team left in the playoffs is down right offensve. It sounds like we won't be hearing anything new on the GM front until next week at the earliest.

With two divisional-round games to be played on Saturday and two on Sunday, it’s our understanding that the Chiefs don’t want their hire (if/when it’s made) to be overshadowed nationally by the games, or to overshadow locally the focus on the postseason action.
So enjoy the weekend Chiefs fans and watch some hopefully great games. I guess they can't be to great since none of them have our Chiefs playing in them. One thing we can take from this. Clark must either be waiting for another candidate who is in the playoffs or he already has his man and wants it to be national news and a splash. At any rate we have four games to watch and a lot to talk about.

Thanks for the link
I initially thought this deal was going to get done quickly but it appears that it isn’t.

John Clayton
on ESPN is now saying he doesn’t think Pioli will leave New England.
Roller coaster back and forth.

Yeah, he is speculating based on no news.
Nobody knows except the parties involved.

Speculation...
But…interesting…
The two possibilities are both easy to stomach:
1.) Pioli has recieved the offer and is hesitant, thus he would be leaning toward stay in New England.
2.) Pioli has accepted the offer and they just havent told anyone…The way things have gone thus far, this is very possible…
The amount of silence they have kept leaves everything wide open…

Maybe
Maybe our next GM’s team is still in the playoffs. And as we all know that if they are no announcement can be made until that team is done playing this year. Which I believe is the case. Since IMHO our next GM is coming from either SanDiego or Pittsburgh.

Quite possible
We have all been keyed in on Pioli because he’s the one we know has interviewed, but with all the secrecy they could be set on someone else that we don’t even know they have talked to. It would explain a lot.

obviously its time to post a watch at Arrowhead
to see if the white smoke issues at any time
The only measure of true success in the NFL is the Vince Lombardi trophy. Anything less is a rationalization.

If you see white smoke
It’s probably a bad sign. Means Clark is burning the contract he had made up with Pioli because its worthless. :)

Clayton
He doesn’t know anymore than we do. When he has something he says “sources say”.

Yeah especially in this case
He didn’t even say that “sources say” He just said the longer we don’t here anything, the more likely it is he stays in NE

he misdirects with Scott Pioli and then pulls Eric DeCosta out from behind your ear. Ta DAH!

I just read a comment on Mike Florios post
Chiefs fans can relax. The commenter said he thinks it is Jimmy Raye the third that will be our GM, and he will retain Herm. That thought scares the fuck out of me! A second tier GM, who will keep a horrible coach, no fucking way!
Lets hope Clark lets the new GM start fresh, with his guys. Who would want a coach, who has lost twice as many as he has won in KC?

consider who wrote that first then buy the oceanfront property in South Dakota
We need a future defensive leader, his name is James Laurinaitis and he can be selected in round 1 of the upcoming Draft.
