The Star's Adam Teicher says he wasn't surprised that Carl Peterson, at his farewell news conference, took a swipe at the news media. He says Peterson thought the media "should have put on our skirts and been a cheerleader for the Chiefs."

I Don't Think It's Hate So Much

I never got the impression that Whitlock actually hated Carl Peterson (he did have Peterson over to his house for a holiday, after all) even though he ripped him as much as anyone. I think Teicher’s probably right in that regard…Peterson never seemed to be able to distinguish legitimate criticism from personal attacks. He was very thin-skinned and the longer he was there the more hostile he became to people pointing out his short-comings. The press is always going to dig for information…that’s their job. And if people treat them like the enemy they’re going to speculate about why that is…that’s also their job. Might as well complain about why water always has to run downhill.

Herm Edwards will not be the Chiefs' head coach next season.

When I listened to his speech...

…the first thing that crossed my mind was Kietz’s MANY offers for Peterson to come on the show. He admittedly sent steaks, flowers, candy…you name it to Peterson and also to his assistant tryign to get him on.
He was all for giving him a full hour with no commercials to have Peterson talk on the radio. Kietz also stated that he WOULD NOT ask questions, but the only stipulation was that Carl answer listeners calls.
If Carl thought that the media was SO incorrect and misinformed, he had MANY outlets to call the media out…he enver did. So as far as him taking a swipe, it shows that it was the last act of a dismal job performance.

Bill Parcell’s: "You are what your record says you are."

Thigpen WILL NOT be the Chiefs starting QB next year IMO. He can compete for the job and should be 2nd or 3rd string.
