Russ Grimm
It is likely that we are waiting for someone who is involved with the teams in the Superbowl as we all know. The popular name given by the media has been Todd Haley, but does anyone remember how Russ Grimm was touted as the next Steelers coach before it went to Tomlin?
And his label now is "Assistant Head Coach" with the Cardinals. Unless he thinks he has it great down there...I could see it happening, at least an interview. What would you all think about him?

Grimm's reputation as a coach grew quickly once the Steelers hired him. The Chicago Bears were ready to hire him as their head coach in 2004 but Grimm balked when told management would help him pick his staff. Gibbs wanted to hire him as his offensive coordinator when he returned to the Redskins in '04, but Grimm was under contract to the Steelers, who did not want to lose him. They promoted him to assistant head coach.
"He's been our little hidden secret for many years now," Steelers All-Pro guard Alan Faneca said. "He'll make a great head coach."
Grimm, who coached from the sideline with the Steelers, presented the halftime adjustments to the players in the locker room for their offense and worked closely with coordinator Ken Whisenhunt on the game plan.
"When he talks, they'll listen," said Fazio, who coached the 2000 season with Grimm with the Redskins. "A lot of people in the league go to Russ for advice on pass protection. You have to be a bright guy to know all the defenses."
And here is what makes me think he'd fit in at Arrowhead on Sundays:
Can he crack the whip?
"Are you kidding me?" Boures said. "I know I wouldn't want to be on the other end of it."
Yet after almost every game, Grimm is host to a tailgate party in the Steelers' parking lot for everyone who wants to attend, coaches and players. Many of them did, win or lose.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.

MORE SPECULATION!
ALL WE HAVE NOW IS SPECULATION IN CHIEFATROITS LAND SO HOW ABOUT THIS NAME- Greg Schiano RUTGERS H.C.
I would be fine with Russ
He is no longer considered a “sexy” pick I guess. But going from a legit candidate to be the Steeler’s HC to being an integral part of the Cardinal’s improvement (perhaps more so than Haley) seems to be a logical progression to a head coaching job.
I still nostalgically dream of Cowher but if we get a first timer Russ would be a fine choice – he also has the Steeler connection & Clark has talked up the Steeler’s alot.
Besides He was a HOG!
Not a bad pick
He was real close to getting the Pittsburg HC job and interviewed for other HC jobs in the past. I wonder if the Cards Super Bowl run took him out of contention for this years HC jobs being the Assistant Head Coach.
I would have no problem giving him a chance as our Head Coach.
Yaeh.
Russ wouldnt be that GRIMM of a choice. OK, yes that was lame, but I still think he would be a pretty good fit.
Toby J. Neal
Clark does love the Steelers
And Russ used to coach in Pittsburgh.
Tell us more about him, I really know little about him other than he was one of the “Hogs” in Washington.

I threw in a little
info I found from when he was with the Steelers being considered a head coach for several teams.
Also, he supposedly interviewed with the Jets recently but they were unwilling to wait and went after Ryan instead.
home, of the....CHIEEEEEFS!
I love Russ Grimm...
In fact…Before Mike Tomlin was hired by the Steelers they had already offered the job to Grimm and then retracted it…If he is good enough for serious consideration by the Steeler’s then Id say he is worth a look….
