I'm just confused with why everyone is all of a sudden jumping on the 3-4 bandwagon. You can get just as much pressure from the 4-3 when done right. We all know as of right now we don't have the personal for the 3-4, granted we still have free agency and the draft, but if we did switch what are we going to do with Glen Dorsey? You can't stick him at DE and he is not big enough to be a 3-4 DT so that makes him a bust right off the bat if we do that. Secondly I think our defense automaticaly improves next year by 5 spots since we won't be playing the bend but don't break "Tampa 2."
So are my thoughts for some off-season moves to help our defense. Obviousily we don't know if any of these players will actually hit free agency but as of right now they are slated too. First, you make a play for Albert Haynesworth. Right there you anchor down your D-line. Him and Dorsey should become a pretty strong combo. Second, you go after Suggs. With him an DJ at the OLB spots, if used properly should help to get pressure on the QB. And to shore up our MLB spot as of right now Mel Kiper has James Laurinaitis slotted going 29 in the draft to the New York football Giants. That's an easy spot for us to trade up to get him. And with just the addition of those three guys are defense would definitly be heading in the right direction.
Well since I'm here let's quickly touch on the offense. We all know we need to upgrade the offensive line so I'm sure we will add there, but that's boring to talk about. The quick and easy fix. Matt Cassel! Again, we don't know if he will become available, but I can't see the Patriots franchise tagging him. It would cost them almost 14M and they just don't have the cap room. So unless they give him a reasonable offer I think he will become a free agent. With our 3rd pick in the draft I think we have to go best available player and take Crabtree (especially if Haley somehow becomes our head coach.) With Cassel, Crabtree and Bowe that's the Cardinals offense AFC west style.
Now on to head coach. I don't really want to talk to much on this cause my head hurts from sifting through all the rumors and speculation. Personally I think it will wind up being Shanahan, but then again who knows. As for Haley I really hope it's not him. Why is everyone so high on this guy all of a sudden? He really hasn't proven anything, has no head coach expierence, and really all he has is two stud WR's that make him looking amazing. I could be there O-cordinator, Warner throw it to Boldin. Next play Warner go to Fitzy! I mean come on. I would be the next hot coaching canadite. So I'm throwing my hat in the ring to be the next Chiefs head coach. But seriously I think you throw the bank at Cowher to try to coax him into coming back 1 year early, but if he doesn't bite, just move on. No interim head coach please. That will only waste another year.
