Around SBN: Are The Orioles Bad Or Unlucky With Their Young Pitching?

If Haley comes is he bringing a QB.

I was thinking about the possibilty that Pioli has his eye on Haley as the next head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs. If that does happen is it possible that Kurt Warner could be brought to Kansas City. Warner is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. The cardinals could use the franchise on him, but I doubt they would want to on an older QB with Leinart waiting in the wings. They also have a couple of other players they may want to tag (such as Karlos Dansby).

I am not sure I would be totally in favor of this, but if we drafted Stafford or Sanchez it might be a good fit to bring him in for 2 years. What are your thoughts?

Lots of ifs

If AZ win that makes Kurt a two time winner, definitely an experienced guy to groom a young QB. If AZ win how likely are people to leave a floating ship. If AZ win does Kurt retire at the top of his game. If AZ win does Kurt try and milk it by staying with a winning team.

I am not in favor of drafting a QB particularly those that aren’t seniors. They look small, weak and inexperienced. They need to stay in college, finish their degrees and put on some muscle.

Isn't that what they did with Leinhart?

I can’t remember, but I thought Warner was brought in to mentor him.

We need a future defensive leader, his name is James Laurinaitis and he can be selected in round 1 of the upcoming Draft.

Ok already, if you don't agree with what I am saying, just don't email my mom again. She beat the crap out of me with my keyboard!

Yep. Confirmed.

Why in the hell

would we sign Warner?

Mentor Schmentor – If all the old guy is going to do is hold the clipboard and help our new young QB, no way are we going to pay what Warner would demand – if he leaves Arizona, there will be several teams who need a 1 or 2 year QB to make a run at a Super Bowl (the Vikings come to mind – Tavaris Jackson is horrible)

If thats all he would do is mentor, make him the QB coach and find another player for the roster

Something we need to consider

is holding off on getting a QB (at least in our first round) until next year. At that year you got Bradford, McCoy, and Tebow to pick from…as well as quite a few others. This years QB choices are no where near as good as next years. I would go with Bradford or McCoy but not Tebow. I like Tebow. He’s a good QB but wouldn’t work with our offense.

There's no hope with dope...

Kurt

Has a great thing in AZ. I mean if you look at his history, he goes from nobody to Superbowl QB-Man-of-the-Century and then disappears again, only to land, in AZ where once again he is SB bound and potentially MVP. So why on earth, once he’s landed and successful would he want to head out and find a new team with a lot of question marks. His stock has risen and he’s at the end of his career, or nearing (he’s what, 38 after all yeah?). I think he’ll stay put, ride out the rest of his career in AZ and milk it for everything it’s worth.

That leaves Leinhart as huge question… Warner was supposed to come in and mentor him, but in truth has usurped that role. So I think we should get Lenhart ala Green and rock that boat. As we all have said, we need a QB or at least someone to compete with Thiggy, and the QB’s out there in the draft? Well I believe we have other pressing needs that we should be looking at to draft ahead of what is available for top QB’s with pick number three. So what about that?
