Around SBN: Kentucky Football: Tee Martin Reportedly Leaving for USC

Thus, in the past 24 hours, like a virus that has spread, some have concluded that Kansas City is pursuing Shanahan and he could be the Chiefs next head coach.

Time to squash that rumor. As of mid-day Thursday, the Chiefs and Shanahan have not had any contact. None. Zero. Zip. Nada.

Good.

’Bout time there was some facts to go along with the rumors and rampant speculation.

Herm Edwards is Clark Hunt's guy. Herm and Carl forced Clark to choose between their differing visions on how to rebuild the Chiefs, and we all see who got their walking papers. Herm's going to be walking the sidelines at Arrowhead in 2009, and possibly even beyond, no matter who the new General Manager is.

Get used to it.

This is the “Patriots’ way”: Coaches and GMs don’t tell the media squat, and you don’t know about anything until after it’s happened.

Ya know

I wish the federal government was more like this. We’d probably be in much better shape if we didn’t roll out the red carpet for the press every time we had a thought about something.

I am just shocked

That Jack Harry could possibly be wrong.

Any realtors want to chime in as to what they know?

Shanny has a cool house and all...

But that one to the southeast of his is AWESOME!

It kinda makes you want to just shut down the computer and go about your daily life

but then, the drama just keeps pulling you back in….lol

We need a future defensive leader, his name is James Laurinaitis and he can be selected in round 1 of the upcoming Draft.

Ok already, if you don't agree with what I am saying, just don't email my mom again. She beat the crap out of me with my keyboard!

Primetime and chris...

you guys should start a poll with all the names of the candidates for the HC position and will see who the fans are most interested in.

Wah-ha-ha-ha

Fooled again by the press.

But seriously, I just heard from Don Fortune that Chucky was interviewing today. He took a boat up the Missouri river and is meeting at one of the casino’s. I tried to find out which one, but that was classified.

Bill Parcell’s: "You are what your record says you are."

Thigpen WILL NOT be the Chiefs starting QB next year IMO. He can compete for the job and should be 2nd or 3rd string.

Jack Harry

Is KC’s version of Geraldo Rivera—completely useless. Maybe Jack Harry will try and dig up Pendergast next…

by Ren on Jan 22, 2009 1:17 PM CST reply actions

is this like Gun being declined an interview with detroit?

There has been NOTHING reported to this point, wouldn’t surprise me if they have talked to him already. Really, what does Schefter or ANYONE else know for certain?

Not a damn thing. If we thought the last GM was all smoke and mirrors… These guys are freaking magicians! Disappearing acts galore!

Derrick58 is right

I think as long as we’re going to be tortured with all of this speculation we should at least have some fun, i.e.,money with it. A pool on who is going to be the next HC?

Who knows?

I wouldn’t be surprised if Shanahan is hired tomorrow. None of these guys knows. We thought KC was spinning it’s wheels then bang Pioli was announced.

Kind of sketchy response

I have no idea whether there is anything to this rumor (probably not), but Adam is pretty sketchy in his response. Its pretty much the norm in these blogs not to mention a specific source, but he doesn’t even mention “an unnamed” chiefs representative. He just says “there is no truth to this rumor” It would be more accurate to say, “I haven’t heard anything one way or the other” . Thats not really a debunking.

by paxi on Jan 22, 2009 9:01 PM CST reply actions

I was thinking the exact same thing

First off no one in the chiefs organization is going to tell him yes or no..No one..Pioli is too secretive..

And Maybe he didn’t he talk to mike..Maybe he talked to his rep or agent and they declined to say a thing about it because A. They don’t need to B. The chiefs have asked them to stay quiet.

This whole thing is still way up in the air

by CALIFAN1986 on Jan 22, 2009 9:17 PM CST up reply actions

Hey! What if...

the rumor is true and Hunt and Pioli slipped Schefter a little payola to come out and publicly deflect it. :)

Jezus H Kristos

NOW the conspiracy theories come out ;)

This is getting rediculous. I think people are getting too stir crazy.
