USA Today announced on Wednesday that Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe and CB Brandon Carr have been named to the All-Joe Team. Both Bowe and Carr are receiving the honor for the first time in their careers.
The All-Joe Team takes its name from former Chiefs DT Joe Phillips who played 14 seasons for Kansas City, San Diego and Minnesota before retiring in ‘99. According to USA Today’s Larry Weisman, the All-Joe Team is represented by "hard-working, overlooked, underappreciated player(s) who do the dirty work simply because that’s (their) lot in life."

Somebody enlighten me
As to why DBowe should be on this team?
“hard working” – Tony G’s work ethic is head and shoulders above him on the practice field
“underappreciated” – he’s one of the few young Chiefs who draw national attention
“dirty work” – like dropping passes and onside kicks?
Don’t get me wrong, I think Bowe is a decent player. I also think “hard work” could make him a much better player. His inability to separate from NFL corners leads me to believe he’ll never be more than a #2 on a playoff-caliber team.

completely agree
I would say Bowe uses all natural talent and 0% work effort to do what he does — which is a scary thought to how good he really could be, but changing how hard a guy works is impossible at the nfl level.
Could be his agent lobbying for him to get some kind of recognition (positive)
We need a future defensive leader, his name is James Laurinaitis and he can be selected in round 1 of the upcoming Draft.
Ok already, if you don't agree with what I am saying, just don't email my mom again. She beat the crap out of me with my keyboard!
"But what do I know, I’m like an empty room with a large ECHO"
Their (USA Today) reasoning:
Dwayne Bowe, K.C. Rips through tackles. Most catches and yards in first two seasons of any Chiefs player in history.
The Day Herm Edwards didn't get his team ready to beat the Raiders at Arrowhead is the day he kissed his job goodbye.
So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehn GOODBYYYEE!
BIG FAT HAIRY DEAL!!!!
When the catches matter D Bowe wasn’t there. My guess is he cost us at least four games with his inability to catch a pass!!! He needs to grow up and hang around with Tony G for a year and learn how to be a leading reciever. Until then D Bowe buy a tube of “Stick um” and smear it on the front of your jersey!!!!!
why are you
all ragging on D-Bowe…? ok maybe he didnt deserve “this” award. but……………….
he ranks 10th in the NLF in total receptions above guys like Hines Ward, Reggie Wayne,
Steve Smith, Calvin Johnson, T.O. Randy Moss.
His rookie year he was 29th in the NFL in receptions, this year he was 10th I’d say he’s improving plus take into account our offense and how inconsistent we were in the begining of the season. Dont get me wrong I know he could work “harder” and prob. be a top 5 WR.
also...
I thought D-Bowe was the guy always staying after practice working w/ the QB’s????

In Repy to All the BITCHING! Above...
I’m SO tired of all the Vaginal Discomfort!
Bowe was #10 in the league w/ receptions (while Tony was tied for 4th)
- for receiving yards (TG was 12th)
- for yards/game (TG was 14th)
- for TD’s (technically 6th; TG was tied in 5th technically 3rd)
- for 1st downs (while Tony was #2) (technically 15th)
0 fumbles and 11.9 yds/ catch (think how often we throw a screen to him or quick slant too!)
All while being the #2 guy on a team ranked:
20th in passing yards/game
26th in points on receptions
9th in passing attempts
16th in completions
20th in total passing yards
8th in TD passes
20th in 1st Down receptions
and having what…5 different QB’s?
I
agree that D Bowe has mad ealot of mistakes, but skill wise he is a top five reciever IMO.
However his u tube video made me lose a tad bit of respect for him. He’ll never be the class act that Gonzalez is, but who will??
If we ever draft a great QB, Bowe could be the best reciever in football.
Yep
look what Warner did for Fitzgerald (and Warner isn’t even a great QB)…he was good before, now he’s probably the best young WR in the league.
