Tony's Future
Do you think Pioli will grant Tony's wish and trade him to a contender? I have a gut feeling he will. I'd love for Tony to stay but he deserves to go to a legitimate Super Bowl contender. I could see him going to either the Giants (excellent replacement for Shockey), Eagles (he would instantly be McNabb's best receiver), or the Patriots (I know they have Watson but that Pioli-Belichick connection might be too strong).
What do you guys think?

I think he'll stay
If Tony feels we’ll turn it around (which I believe he does), then he’ll stick around.
And our best chance of being competitive is keeping Tony.

For me
It’s not even about the deserving part of it. He’s an awesome player and makes our team better.
It’s unlikely we could get a 3rd or 4th round pick that produces like he does. His value is much higher to us.

yes
same thing I’ve been saying about LJ (even with his whiny bitching) – both players are worth considerably more to us than what we could get for them in trade.

1 for 2
I agree that T-Gonz stays. he is more valuable than we can get for him, both in the locker room and on the field.
But I disagree about LJ. He goes. For the same reasons that folks have been suggesting that T-Gonz could be traded – Pioli’s track record with aging stars. LJ is a liability, not an asset. His upside for us? very little. Draft picks or trade value? Very high. nuff said.

LJ
will be in Oakland. He can spit out all his drinks and Davis would encourage it.
LJ=Thug Life
Let's call him...Trogdor the Burninator!

I Think He Stays
I don’t think that Pioli’s interested in doing a long rebuild where it will take years for the team to make the playoffs again. That kind of talk was mainly just a result of having Carl “Two Players Per Draft And Several Bad Contracts” Peterson in charge of bringing in players.
Herm Edwards will not be the Chiefs' head coach next season.

Me too
I think Pioli realizes that the Chiefs really aren’t that far from being able to win the AFC West and maybe (gasp!) even winning a playoff game…trading Tony would change that.

If we trade LJ
Do it to the Bengals. Their owner is a moron and will give us the best value. They’re also all about the second chance thing. Plus I bet Brown thinks his team is just a step away from competing.

I Think They're Re-Signing Cedric Benson
He’ll be cheap and they already like him.

trade LJ and TG
I think LJ just needs to go. He is a bad attitude guy and already worn out and past his prime.
TG, I like a lot. But, he put himself firmly in the Herm camp. I hate Herm because he is such an idiot. Fire Herm, trade TG for the best we can get and wish him well on a near term contender. We need to clean house and start over.

I don't think trading our two best players
is going to do us a whole lot of good..The only way we trade Larry is he is refuses to be happy and submit here to the new regime..I love Tony but Tony is a free man and freely signed his last contract to the chiefs and is getting paid very well off of it..In all honestly Carl handled that situation beautifully..Giving him away for anything less than a first round pick is STUPID..We likely won’t get that for a 32 year old TE but no one and i mean no one we receive in a trade or thru free agency is going to provide the impact tony will to the chiefs in 2009..We all know that…Tony has three more years in this thing..I think we can compete for the playoffs next year since oakland will likely suck again, denver will be mediocre with their head coaching change, and diego is slowly on their way out in my opinion..
8-8 might very well be the record needed to reach the playoffs next year in the west and we won’t get that without Tony..
