Thum Breaks the Chiefs Silence
Interim president/general manager Denny Thum, who is assisting chairman Clark Hunt in the selection process, said Hunt hopes to hire a general manager before the Super Bowl, which is Feb. 1.
Hunt has interviewed Pioli, New England’s vice president for player personnel, and others. Hunt could interview as many as 10 candidates before he’s finished.
In the meantime, the Chiefs are going about business as usual. They recently signed several players, including quarterback Ingle Martin on Monday, to fill out the bottom of their roster.
FINALLY, someone from the Chiefs talk about this!

I knew it!!!
It is Thum’s revenge!!! He temporarily has the keys to the kingdom so he’s signing as many scrubs as he can. That’s hilarious!

It's roster filling
They’re putting guys back on the roster that had to be released to make room for the “other scrubs” who were having to start at positions of need.
The Day Herm Edwards didn't get his team ready to beat the Raiders at Arrowhead is the day he kissed his job goodbye.

new to the site, but been a fan since '85
This is aggravating! Even though I am new here, I have been checking this site out for awhile! I signed up to say that I don’t think “no news is good news”. Thanks.

Welcome and feel free to say a few more things. :)
We need a future defensive leader, his name is James Laurinaitis and he can be selected in round 1 of the upcoming Draft.

just because there is no news
doesnt meant that it is bad news.. clark hunt has not said one word about the search from the start. if he had and then all of a sudden stopped talking then i would be worried, but for now its just a waiting game.

The Thing I'm Happiest About With This Article
Is that the Chiefs have admitted they’re still in the process of interviewing other candidates as well, not just Pioli. That’s a good thing, because they need that GM in place before the Super Bowl. Free agency kicks off fast and the new guy needs to be able to hit the ground running if the Chiefs are going to be a player in free agency.
Herm Edwards will not be the Chiefs' head coach next season.

As long as they are not Herm Edwards free agents.
Going to be a player in free agency, we seen what frre agents Herm wants, what do they think we are, retarts?:)
Lets hope Clark lets the new GM start fresh, with his guys. Who would want a coach, who has lost twice as many as he has won in KC?

Remember, there is deafening silence from the Pioli camp as well.
If he was certain he was staying in NE, he’d say so. No reason not to. It’s not like there are other suitors for his services. Yes, it drives we fans crazy, but, other than that, the principals involved may have every reason to take their time with this.
We’re talking about people who will be plotting the direction of a high profile, multimillion dollar enterprise for the next decade or longer. Due diligence is crucial.
Bear in mind that Matt Millen once knocked somebody’s socks off in an interview.

Is it due diligence?
By all accounts Pioli is the Chiefs #1 guy. Our due diligence has been done…we know who we want. Now, it’s just a matter of getting it done (although everything at this point is still speculation).

"All Accounts"
Aren’t very many of them. We really have no idea where this stands, who has (or will) be interviewed, or who has been eliminated (maybe Pioli).

We know who WE want
but is that who Clark wants? I know I would want to leave no stone unturned in order to NOT have to go through this process again in 4-5 years.

I don't want to start rumor or speculation...BUT
I think our new GM is going to be Marty. So thats my thought, you don’t have to believe it. Just what i have been hearing, won’t tell you the source until GM is announced.

YEAH RIGHT AND>>
Brian Shottenhiemer is the head coach and Marty’s brother Kurt is the assistan GM…..and Paul Hacket is the OC. The source must not be very reliable if you can’t name him….ANYBODY can name a source after the fact.

Let me check it again...I've had a reliable one

Bill Parcell’s: "You are what your record says you are."
Thigpen WILL NOT be the Chiefs starting QB next year IMO. He can compete for the job and should be 2nd or 3rd string.
