Discussions between the Kansas City Chiefs and Patriots vice president of player personnel Scott Pioli have intensified, according to an NFL source.
Although negotiations had not begun as of early tonight, word out of Kansas City was that the possibility of a marriage was picking up momentum.
Hunt, interim president Denny Thum, and Pioli have increased their dialogue and think they could form a strong partnership, which is crucial, because regardless of whom the Chiefs hire, that person will have to work closely with Thum.

Dang it DJ!!!
I was just getting ready to do a fanshot on this!!! Leon Liebl just reported this, an anouncement on this tomorrow, please!?!
Lets hope Clark lets the new GM start fresh, with his guys. Who would want a coach, who has lost twice as many as he has won in KC?

I think
It will be sooner than later if it is at all. Pioli knows by now if he wants the job or not and if he wants it he will want his coaching choice before he is gone.

Tapping another blog...
I’m probably committing a mortal sin by posting this link, but I found this interesting:
Why should Pioli come here?
I /know/ that posting this one’s a sin, since it’s from the same blog, discussing giving Herm another year in ’09:
On retaining Herm
Now everyone knows enough about the source, and can safely dismiss it… ;-)
If the O-line isn't built up, any rookie QB is gonna look bad next season. If the O-line is a lot better, Thigpen will look better, next season, too.
