And you thought the season was a joke.....
Look, I am just as tired as everyone esle about all this GM speculation. I also am well aware that Clark has an important decision to make. What bothers me is we just suffered through the MOST abysmal season in franchise history and we are setting ourselves up for another in 09. Why??? Because while we sit here with our poseable thumbs up our collective asses, other teams are preparing for the following ( which Ithink are somewhat important):
A-Senior Bowl
B-Combine
C-oh what is this last one...........ah yes the F^@%$!^& draft!!!!!!!
The longer we wait, the worse things will become if we do indeed blow up the coaching staff etc. We are behind the eight ball already and now we have lost precious time because there is no off-season and as bad as we are built we are setting our new regime, whatever it may be, up for failure.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.

This is an important decision, we don’t want to blow it like Cleveland did by trying to rush everything through as soon as possible. I’d rather that Clark takes his time and gets the right man for the job instead of panicking and picking someone just for the sake of making a decision. The season’s not even over yet, there’s still plenty of time until the draft, and besides, any qualified GM candidate will have been doing his homework on the draft class before they come to the Chiefs anyway.

Do you seriously think
That there is no preparation for those things being done? Do you seriously think that whoever they hire as GM is not already preparing for those events with the team he is on now and will carry that knowledge of the players and circumstances with him when he comes to the Chiefs?
Clark hunt is taking the time to make a smart decision on the guy that will be calling the shots for at least the next 10 years (if not the next 20) and you’re freaking out because you don’t know who that guy is yet.
If Clark hires the right guy all those things you’re worried about will be well in hand. Calm down.

I think it is Pioli
Everthing is way to quiet not to be. I thought we would get the news yesterday. We will soon enough.
Lets hope Clark lets the new GM start fresh, with his guys. Who would want a coach, who has lost twice as many as he has won in KC?

+1
Pioli is already working on all this stuff. Why? That is what his job is. Funny how people are worried about all the evals of rookies and what not. Any candidate we hire is working on that stuff because that is what their current job entales.

I Agree!!
Clark Hunt should realize there are fan out here that deserve some action! We of course have not a penny invested in the club but by gum we want Clark to satisfy out impatience and go out there and hire anybody because we want action. We will complain after you hire one because we have 20/20 hindsight and we of course will blame Clark for being hasty and should have waited and hired someone else.

Yea....
Everybody we are looking at is already doing work on this stuff….There is little hurry…The only thing they have to do here is evaluate our players for their system once the staff is in place and that can be done anytime between now and late April, technically…all the scouting can be compared to that as opposed to the other way…
Be Patient SFC…It will be worth it…
With that said, I am confident that Pioli will be taking the job….I just hate that they are all so secretive…Its a good thing to be, but it leaves me out! lol

Agreed
There is nothing anyone can do until draft day anyway. Between now and then it is all about evaluation of need. Even the FA acquisition period is closed until early March, and it is against the rules to contact anyone. Now is the time to work out the deals with players we want to keep, so that we know how much money will be available for the CAP.
My only concern is availability of top coaches for our new GM to bring in. The longer we wait for him to take his position, the fewer coaches will be available to select from.
