Her we go again

so here we go again another year without a QB . Nice job Carl and Herm stand pat

with what we have and now we are back to Damon Huard. Way to improve the team

we had a ton of picks in this years draft and no QB .

If Brodie was the guy he should have taken that job over last  year when he was given the chance. Nobody can tell me Brodie is a better option than who we could have drafted Brian Brohm was there in the second or third round. Nobody would give Colt Brennan a shot I think the Redskins got him in the sixthor seventh round and he will probably be the starter by the end of the year.

So thanks for another year of crappy football with a subpar product on the field.

START THE BILL COWHER COURTSHIP NOW !!!!

Brian Brohm

He’s 3rd on the depth chart behind 7th round rookie Matt Flynn. Maybe it means something, maybe it doesn’t (we won’t know for probably three more years).

And, in my opinion, having a ton of picks doesn’t really matter. I want a high level draft pick dedicated to QB (this is really theoretical, but I don’t want CP to have anything to do with the selection, which, I know, is impossible). Or I want us to make a play for a high level free agent.

Obviously solid free agent QBs rarely come around so the draft might be the best way.

Graham Harrell

I think he represents the best option in the current draft.

I wouldn’t be opposed to the Chiefs trading for Brohm, but the cost of that trade would probably be prohibitive. If we got him for a 2nd rounder or lower I’d be all for it.

Supporting the lesser of two evils is still supporting something evil.

Walterfootball.com has him as going in the 4-5th round...

And has him listed as the 14th QB. But I really like the guy, if we were to pick him up in the 4th I’d be thrilled…

This isn't related

but is there any truth to the rumor that Boomer Grigsby got cut today?

Yeah

Check the FanPost about it.

I for one

don’t understand why we’re exploring options. We have Damon Huard.

Do you people not remember that he pisses titanium? That his passes are frozen ropes of soggy bread?

How can you speak of this Brohm person who has upside and potential, when we have an established 35 year old career backup who can throw 15 yards with ONE throw in our starting spot?

I have come around. I am rededicating myself.

This is the year that Damon Huard proves he belongs in the Hall of Fame.

This is the Year of Huardation.

I heard

That once, Damon Huard threw Chuck Norris for TD.

Blame my wife!

Damon Huard's tears cure severe concussions

Too bad for Trent Green, Damon Huard never cries. Ever.

Graham Harrell for QB 2009

I seriously think we can pick him up in the 2nd unless he wins the heisman or something this year, which would never happen as he plays for Texas Tech. Seriously, he would be a steal because a lot of teams will underrate him due to Texas Tech’s system. We need Graham Harrell.

I don't like the QB history under Leach at all!

Look at these NFL studs:
Cody Hodges- Signed and released by the Titans, later played for the Fort Wayne Fusion.
Kliff Kingsbury-Drafted by the Pats in the 6th round 2003, spent the year on IR. Played in the 4th quarter of one game for the Broncos in 2005. Now works for the U of Houston.
BJ Symons-Selected in the 7th round of the 2004 Draft by the Texans. As of 2007 he is playing in the AFL.
Sonny Cumbie-Signed as an UDFA after the 2005 Draft with the Colts, later released. Now playing in the AFL.
Tim Couch-1999 #1 overall pick in the NFL Draft by the Browns. Injury Prone bust who has played for 77 NFL teams.
Josh Heupel-2001 6th round draft pick by the Dolphins. Currently QB’s coach at OU.

If we were an AFL team I would say yes, but since this is the NFL I’ll pass on Harrell. Give me another Offensive lineman or Jeremy Maclin.

Who would you have not drafted to get a QB?

Very good point, your absolutely right. Cannot fix all our needs in one draft. So lets trade for Brady Quinn, Alex Smith, or Brian Brohm. Maybe, we can offer a 2nd rounder and a later pick for Smith and Brohm. Quinn would most likely require a 1st round and additional selection. That would be too much, since we will be picking high again next year.
Then we can properly address our need at MLB position. Why? look at the play when Cassel was running up the middle and Pat Thomas went after the HB on a pass route. ??? HUH? and he’s better than Nap Harris? boy do we need help at MLB.

Alex Smith

I might even take Croyle over him. He’s just terrible.

by Joel Thorman on Sep 9, 2008 6:34 PM CDT up reply actions

plus the draftniks say the Linebacker position is the strength of the Draft next year.

Maualaga (So. Cal), Lauriniaitis (Ohio St.), Brinkley (So. Carolina), Cushing (So. Cal), Freeman (Ohio St.) Spikes(Florida).
I like Maualaga, looks like a younger Junior Seau. Plus he’s wearing #58 at USC!

by aPacificChief on Sep 9, 2008 4:14 PM CDT reply actions

Alex Smith??

The 49ers have already had their Brodie like experiment with him and it has gone worse than Croyle.

Oh yeah, Maualaga is a fierce LB who would look good in a Chiefs uni! Too bad we may have to use our 1st pick on another OL.

Next years draft

We need to get a MLB, a QB, and an interior lineman in the first three rounds. What order can be determined later.
