5 Questions for the Raiders
We should be meeting up with saint from Silver and Black Pride this week to do the question exchange. And I have to say, for a Raiders blog, saint delivers an entertaining product over there.
Let us know your questions for the Raiders and then we'll pull out five to ask saint.
Previous Know Thy Enemy installments are here.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.

How long until
everyone in Oakland regrets giving Javon Walker $16 million guaranteed?
What is Run DMC’s role in the running game? Is Justin Fargas set to be the featured back indefinitely or just until DMC comes along?
What’s your impression of the Raiders off-season? Many people might say it reeked of desperation. Do you agree with that? Is there any validity to that question?
What’s the over/under on the number of positions Robert Gallery will play on the offensive line this year?
How many wins did you predict before the Denver game? Now how many do you think?
If the Raiders hold the #1 pick next year, what position are you addressing?

to add
How long until everyone in Oakland regrets giving DeAngelo Hall $24.5 million guaranteed?
and
How many weeks before Al Davis fires Lane Kiffin? I’m predicting a mid season ousting. Who would you like to see replace Kiffin if/when that happens?

Hall should be worth it
CBs usually are because they don’t really have to interact with others on the field.

teehee
Every time Hall “interacted” with others on field it was either a TD or a 15 yd personal foul. Money well spent I say.
Blame my wife!

We already regret giving Hall that much money
However, I don’t think Croyle is the one to thread the needle against him.
The Raider Nation is the only Nation.

IF the Raiders hold the #1 pick in '09..
I would suggest they draft a brand new GM/President.
Oakland’s gotta worse than us in terms of their front office debacles.
Hey if the Chiefs will be picking #1 next year could we do the same?

Who will be worse this year?
Us or you, Will Jamarcus Russel turn out to be a solid pick?

Al Davis Attitude
Is it more important to have the “Mystique” of the Raiders or to actually build a winning program? Why do you keep picking up players with attitude like Deangelo and Javon? There is a lot more to football than a 4.2 forty and a rap sheet. Just saying…

Who is worse at running a franchise?
Al Davis or Carl Peterson? Granted, this is like asking, “Who was worse, the 2004 Royals or the 2005 Royals?”
But, really, does Raider Nation look on with glee as Carl’s reign now toes the doorstep of its third decade? I go to sleep every night with a smile on my face knowing the Raiders will suck until Al D starts pushing up daisies; does Peterson inspire the same, ahem, confidence in the Barrio by the Bay?
I tried to come up with a functional anagram for Carl Peterson, but I couldn't get past "crap sneer lot".

Al Davis is much better
He’s produced how many Super Bowl wins?

I will add
In recent memory at that? Or even, in the last 2 3 4 5 decades?

At least they had a shot in 2002
And that’s all I’m saying about it. It sounds like I’m defending the Raiders.
My apologies fellow APers.

Draftnik questions.
Which isn’t easy, since the Raiders traded away virtually all of their picks….
- Tyvon Branch had great measurables coming out of UConn. Is he proving to adapt quite nicely to NFL action, or is he a project in the works?
- How fast does Armon Shields look with pads on? The Chiefs drafted a speed demon of their own, Jamaal Charles, and he’s basically a blur. Has Shields forced teams to honor him deep yet? On the other side, has Schilens has pretty good size for a possession receiver — but why are both of these guys way down on the depth chart?
- Trevor Scott played both ways (primarily a DE but some TE) for Buffalo — have the Raiders tried him out at all on the offensive side?

I'll try to get to all of these:
* Tyvon Branch had great measurables coming out of UConn. Is he proving to adapt quite nicely to NFL action, or is he a project in the works?
Tyvon messed up his hand pretty good early on, but he has shown a lot of dedication and has taken over the “Gunner” role on special teams. He may take over the return duties from Johnnie Lee if he falters. I still would have rather kept our second rounder (Instead of trading it for (D-Less) Angelo) and then drafted DeShaun Jackson, BUT, Tyvon may be a dynamic return man once his hand heals.
* How fast does Armon Shields look with pads on? The Chiefs drafted a speed demon of their own, Jamaal Charles, and he’s basically a blur. Has Shields forced teams to honor him deep yet? On the other side, has Schilens has pretty good size for a possession receiver — but why are both of these guys way down on the depth chart?
They are way down on the depth chart because they are rookies and Lellie, Walker and Curry are all better at this point. Schilens has actually passed up many other wide0outs this season and he was a steal for a 7th rounder. Shields has been injured and has been slow to crack into the rotation, BUT, when he has gotten a chance, he has been good.
I LOVED Jamaal Charles in this draft and think that he will be a Top 5 back taken in this draft, which was a MONSTER for RB’s. He may even end up being in the Top 3.
* Trevor Scott played both ways (primarily a DE but some TE) for Buffalo — have the Raiders tried him out at all on the offensive side?
He will not play offense for this team, he is a speed pass rusher and is also looking like steal in the 7th Round.
But when they start scheming us the way these guys did, and we weren't particularly ready for it, anything can happen."
