Tom Brady to Start This Sunday; Chiefs Designate Captains
You knew he was going to start, right? From The Red Zone:
The Patriots just sent me their daily injury report and quarterback Tom Brady is nowhere on it.
That is public acknowledgment that Brady will not only play but start on Sunday against the Chiefs.
Geez the Patriots get way too much out of messing with the injury report. Way too much.
Plus, in what is turning out to be me pillaging The Red Zone's content, the Kansas City Chiefs named their captains for the season.
The Chiefs designated four captains for the season: guard Brian Waters, cornerback Pat Surtain, linebacker Pat Thomas and special teams player Jon McGraw were elected by a vote of their teammates.
You just know McGraw lobbied for like six weeks to get one of those captain spots. Gerrymandering, illegitimate voters, hanging chads...McGraw is all too familiar with those.
Don't forget about actual football being played tonight. It's the Redskins and Giants tonight at 6 PM central time.

Oh well the wheels
Come off sometime for every dynasty, it is time for them to feel our pain! They have o-line issues, linebacker issues, and secondary issues. GO CHIEFS!! You shall feel our wrath Tommy!

Injury
Are there rules about listing people on injury reports? Like do you need a note from your doctor or something?
The whole thing about Brady having a doubtful shoulder all last year smacks of gamesmanship.
Blame my wife!

I don't think so
But probable, doubtful, etc have very specific meanings.
Out – Definitely will not play
Doubtful – 75 percent chance will not play
Questionable – 50/50 chance of playing
Probable – Virtual certainty of playing

The league says they will get you
if you don’t correctly report injuries. But they never have.
What I don’t understand is Brady’s ankle last year during the Super Bowl. He was in a walking boot a week before the game. The ankle obviously bothered him during the game. And he wasn’t on the injury report.

Let's make sure it is next week.
( And, no, I don’t normally cheer for people to get hurt, but I make an exception for Patsies and Yankees and Shawn Merriman. )

I would love to see them make the Pats regret that move
The only way the Chiefs really have a chance is to get to Brady, and if that’s not a bullseye I don’t know what is.

Injury reports are a farce
Either the NFL should do away with injury reports or force the patriots to quit making a farce of the thing. I believe brady was listed every week last year as questionable and has been on the report almostr every week for the last few years. And now whenm everyone knows he has a legitimate injury he is not on the list.
I think the list serves no purpose except fpr gamblers, and for a sport thaty tries so hard to distance itself from gambling I question the surivial of injury reports.
I assumed that brady was going to play, but who knows if belichek left him off the report the guy probably had his leg surgically removed.

I agree with the gambling aspect
Why would the NFL, when they are trying to clean up the League, go to so much trouble each week to make the gamblers feel good about themselves and their bets? What could that be maybe less than 5% of all the fans who professionally gamble on the games? What about the other 95% of the fans? Most go0 to the games and pay the outrageous prices for parking, beer and hotdogs. What good is the injury report to a hot beer, and cold hotdog with no mustard?

It IS because of the gambling
Specifically, it’s so that no one has insider information. The idea is that the NFL will make all the information public so there’s no gambling scandal, no insider information.

Let's not Forget
Fantasy Football is big business now and brings a lot of viewers into NFL games other than just their usual team. Fantasy owners like to know who to start and sit. It’s not just for the gamblers.

This might be completely dumb of me, but...
…why isn’t Tony G. a captain? He would seem to be the most natural choice.

players voted
The captains were voted in by the players, so apparently thats who the guys feel are leaders in the room.

And he kicked
a 48 yarder, there is something really wrong with our special teams.

Team Captains should have been ...
I know the players vote and all, but the Captains should’ve been:
1) Tony Gonzalez
2) Brian Waters
3) Derrick Johnson
4) Jon McGraw
