Predicting the score for the N.E. game

We've had this discussion over at Arrowhead Addict. Now I'd like to see what you guys think. There was a Huge healthy dose of "homerism" myself included. I believe the Chiefs can pull it off with a 24-21 win on the leg of Novak. Brady wont play long, I think he'll take a few hits, show he's in pain, make a few mistakes, one of them being a INT to Flowers which will lead to a TD. I am a big homer i guess but I am a Chiefs fan. What do you guys think the final score will be and what we might see.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.

I agree that we

somehow steal a win. I think Brady gets flattened a few times, they pull him , and that is when we will steal it! 24-21 might be pushing it a little, but sounds reasonable.

Sounds about right

I think the national media is really under-estimating the affect (effect?) Chan Gailey will have on our offense. All I hear is how bad the O-line is and that we couldn’t do anything last year on offense. I think that is an “apples-to-oranges” comparison – completely irrelevant. I think we might pull off the upset!

I don't think we have a chance

It’s easy to sit here and imagine the possibilities of a Chiefs victory. But, let’s face it. We’re not going to be the first team to beat them in the regular season in more than a year. We were one of the worst teams last year, didn’t really get much better immediately (our wealth is our potential talent).

If this were the 2007 Belichick, I could see them stomping us and running the score up big time.

31-19 Pats win.

But Turk sacks Brady 2 1/2 times the other half going to Dorsey when they sandwich him and he lays there in a heap, out for 6 weeks! Brodie goes 14-22 for 176 yards and has 1 INT. LJ rushes for 88 and has 33 rec yards and a rec TD.

Reality sets in...

Herms record in opening games of season with Jets and Chiefs, 2-5 enough said.

But you never know, I remember when Philly came to town in ’92 they were undefeated, and had Buddy Ryan with the 46 defense with the likes of Reggie White, Seth Joyner, and Eric Allen….and we WON.

So on pure hope alone, KC 24 Philly 17.

Is Brady ready/healthy?

I think the game is all going to be dependent on whether or not Brady is really healthy and ready to play. I mean common missing all of the pre-season….. I’m just not sure that we are going to see the same Tom Brady of last year. Here is my prediction.

If Tom Brady is ready/healthy.

  • 34-14 Pats win
  • Brady 2 td Croyle 2 int
  • Johnson 64 yards 1 td
  • Hali and Turk 2 combined sacks

If not which is what I want to expect
*24-21 Chiefs win

  • we somehow win through ball control, and LJ. The win will have nothing to do with b.c., but we will see flashes of LJ’s past.

To many variables

There are to many questions leading up to this game to predict. The Pats didn’t really need a running game to win last year. Mainly because Brady was healthy. He is still Tom Brady but, he is going to play hurt. He hasn’t had much time to work with the offense and his line has questions. If we don’t allow them to get the run game going we have a shot. Either way I expect the game to be close and it should build confidence for a young team.

35-17 Pats

I can’t imagine they’re going to be in a good mood. If it was at Arrowhead, I might feel differently (closer, no change in ultimate outcome). There’s a substantial difference between the Giants’ d-line last year and the Chiefs this year, so I’m not looking for a lot of red helmets around NE ball carriers. Likewise on the O line, its really asking a lot of the line this early in the year to keep Croyle off the ground and the runners free to roam.
