We are goin for a new QB
This is the deal. Arrowhead Addict was mentioned on NFL Gameday Morning about how a lot of people there wanted Cowher and Vick in 09. We need to pick someone who is a real possibility and get loud about it. They have heard our voices once now it's time to get loud. Who would you like to see us go after? Keep in mind it has to be someone realistic and I think Arrowhead Pride and Arrowhead Addict and any other site who wants to join us should make our voices be heard. Speak Up and we will be heard.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.

Real Possibilties
Unlike may who have pipe dreams about Vick (no thanks), Quinn (there not trading him unless Anderson plays alot better) or Leinart (Warner is old) I think there are actually a couple real possibilities. JP Losman is intriguing. He is young mobile can stretch the field, he would be a good fit in our system. Perhaps Alex Smith att he end of the year (he will be released) if he is not asking too much money. He is not my favorite guy but you don’t get drafted number 1 overall without some potential. Sage Rosenfels would have been a good pickup, but I don’t think they will trade him because Schaub is playing poorly.
Losman
There’s no need to trade for him, he’s an unrestricted free agent after the season. And I like him for our team too. Alex Smith I don’t like, mainly because he’s out for the year again with shoulder problems (that’s twice in two years). And yes, Rosenfels appears to be off the table because Schaub’s looking like he might get benched.
Supporting the lesser of two evils is still supporting something evil.
Personally I see a different scenario first...
The question has to be settled about our Head Coach first, if in fact his job is on the line. Unless you believe any quarterback can play in any system. If thats the case then bring in the best we can find. Otherwise, if we were to get a new coach, we would need to find that particular QB who can best work that coaches system.
Good point
An ideal example is a Herm QB vs. a Vermeil QB.

I dont think we are going to get rid of herm that easy
Not while Carl is still there anyways. I think them looking into Quinn at least showed that they know we need someone else.
Umm...
You think Lenny is going to leave his stint on the nightly news? He’s like the Walter Cronkite of KC!

Brian Brohm!
Read my post, 4 fanposts back.
Why on earth would anyone want Vick in KC? I don’t want him killing my dogs. :(
My Reasoning...
…would be “Why would we want a QB who’s a rotten passer when we’ve already got plenty of QBs who can’t pass on our active roster”.
Seriously, what did Vick ever do that makes people think he’s a great QB? Rush for 1,000 yards? Big deal. Scrambling QBs who haven’t learned how to work from the pocket are generally washed up at age 29. And Vick will be that old when he gets out of prison, plus he’ll have been out of football for two years…assuming that the NFL were to be nice and immediately reinstate him. Add all of the baggage he brings (and I’m not just talking about the dogs…this guy was in the news plenty for the wrong reasons before the whole kennel thing) and this is a signing that we don’t want to touch.
Supporting the lesser of two evils is still supporting something evil.
I'd rather take Vince Young over Vick if all we care about is a scrambler
But I still DO NOT want Vince Young either… even though I really love his first name.
What the hell are you talking about?
Does this look like a guy who is a rotten passer?
/No, but seriously, we should get Vick.
//Also, Chris Henry is a game-changer.
///Does Rasheed Wallace know how to snap?
/// Read: These ideas are retarded.

Im not sure
What I am sure of is that we need someone now. I am tired of watching our Chiefs get spanked like George Bush at the kitty ranch. Im not saying I want Vick. Im saying we all need to get together and make our voices be heard about someone. Someone who can actually play NFL ball. I don’t think the guys we have would succeed in pee wee league.
I would be worried
If the Chiefs management were focusing part of their rebuilding efforts on who the fans wants to see.
The coaches watch the guys in practice all week. We might see the guy for a few hours during preseason or the regular season.

Im goin with Brohm also
especially if he’s sitting 3rd on their depth chart. It surely cant take much to get their 3rd stringer.
I loved Brohm out of college
I personally thought he was the best of all the QBs in the draft. I would have taken him over any of the others. And now Green Bay seems set at QB again.
what do you think it would take to get Brohm in Red and Gold?
Most definetly a 2nd rounder in ’09, but what else?
and should it be done before the trade deadline or in the offseason? when we know the exact value of our draft picks?
Probably a 1st rounder
Remember, Aaron Rodgers is 3 games into his starting career in GB. Brohm stays in GB for several years IMO.

I like Brohm coming out of Louisville, I was shocked
when Flacco was selected ahead of him in the 1st round, while Brohm slipped to the 2nd round.
Brohm is the logical move for us at QB, considering that the Packers are content with Rodgers. Being that Brohm was only a 2nd rounder will keep the price to make the move relavtively reasonable.
How about moving one of those RB’s that we’ve been stockpiling? What about our 2nd rounder in ‘09 where we most likely be selecting somewhere in the 35-36 (for a QB who was selected 56) there’s value to Green Bay, and then include in combination with the pick either Kolby Smith or Dantrell Savage (a change of pace back to compliment Grant’s power) another one two punch, again value. Then if that’s still not enough throw in a 5th or 6th round selection to sweeten the deal.
Or (I can’t believe I’m sayin this) how about a 4th round selection, and ……GULP….and Tony G. I’d hate this idea, but it gives Tony a legitmate shot at a ring. Plus he still gives us value for his productivity at the TE position, and being that the Packers are a west coast offense TE is a position of importance to them. HECK…IF Brett Favre can be traded…..why not we do a favor to our most loved player who never openly spilled sour grapes on our coaches or on management.
Content with Rodgers
Who says? He’s played 3 games.

"A lot of people wanted Cowher/Vick"
Um, who wants Cowher/Vick? Considering hardly anyone agreed with Adam I am assuming he did that to drum up some interest.
Vick is not an option. In fact, I think it makes Chiefs fans look desperate/incompetent to ask for Vick.
Who Gives a Sh*t
my point is not that, my point was we have been heard before now lets do it again. This time with a realistic choice.
If we brought in Vick
Then yes, I believe we would look incompetent. He’s not an NFL quarterback.

I'm not trying to be rude
but I think people are missing my point, The Vick thing was just an example of us being heard. Now I want to start the real thing.
Yeah but
It got us heard because of how ridiculous it is.
I see your point – I just want to be recognized for cognizant thoughts :)
Cowher would be nice though..

I hear ya
I think this is a really strange feeling for a lot of Chiefs fans who didn’t live through the 80s. With blogs, constant media attention and the like we are now soo connected to our team unlike ever before.
So when they suck, we actually have an outlet to vent. An outlet that some people actually do listen to. It’s just that we haven’t been placed in a position of so obviously being a terrible team for so long many of us don’t know how to react.
But I see your point more clearly now – I just wanna be proud again, too.
