Brady Quinn?
For all of you who have a man crush on the Notre Dame notable, the Chiefs have tried to trade for Quinn. According to Jay Glazer who I just heard on Fox's pregame show the Chiefs approached the Browns but were turned down.
I think this would be a disaster I live in South Bend and I wasn't that impressed watching him here. He's just not that good.
I would much rather wait till the draft to get a QB.

Confirmed
Tried to trade with the Browns, but Brown’s not available.
Bones. It's not just a noun it's a verb. Not just a nickname, a movement.

Wow
I’m genuinely shocked. They’re actually TRYING to get better!

Best News I've Heard of the Day
After another stellar outting by Bones and this report, I’m hoping the guys upstairs are making calls around the league before the deadline approaches. If I was Tony Gonzalez I would get in Carl’s face and tell him to get me someone who can actually throw the ball

Agreed
We need to see some effort towards success.

Wonder if this means
They will be willing to spend their (probably very high) 1st round pick on a QB this year.
Very torn on doing that. On one hand I think it would give people a little more hope that we might have a potentially good franchise QB, on the other hand its extremely risky and could set the team back a long ways if he becomes a bust. You don’t just give up on a top 5 QB if he loses his first 8 or 10 games in a row. Too much money invested in them.
It would also mean other areas that we need a high level talent in, like DE and MLB will get ignored again.

I Doubt It
Only because there aren’t many options out there that are clearly worth our 1st round pick, and those that are (most prominent example being Carson Palmer…who looks like he’s about as disgusted as he can be playing for the Bengals right now) either aren’t on the trading block or would probably cost us another high draft pick as well.

I just pray
There isn’t going to be a huge call among Chiefs fans to trade for Derrick Anderson now. The guy had 3 good games last year that got a lot of attention and wasn’t very good the rest of the season and has been horrible this season.

But Then What Do I Know
This in the AP fantasy league I’m losing to a team that hasn’t bothered to replace Tom Brady in their starting lineup :)
Jerricho Cotchery and Ryan Grant need to come up big…

Anderson
is worth a 3rd round pick and if Cleveland wants to pull another Charlie Frye we should take him for any pick higher than that. Fact of the matter still remains that anyone is better than who we got now…
Regardless of any transaction that may happen we still need another QB from the draft next year. If any true progress is being made next year Huard & Thigpen will not be returning which leaves us w/ Croyle who I’d like to see play #2 behind whomever we A)trade for this season or B)free agent signed in the offseason. Then hopefully rounds 1-3 we’ll pick another young QB to fill the #3 spot where hopefully he can begin his bright and promising career in KC
