Gannon all the way!
Need some o-lineman up there, where is Shields, Grunny, Roaf, Szott, and on and on?
Damn, I am spoiled!
Do not worry Chris, I am not crazy! Well maybe after this season!
Hey,
where’s the “All of the above” option?
Or I guess it could be “most of the above”, since we don’t need Green, Gannon and Dawson all at the same time. Of course, if we stick them behind the current O-line, we’d need all three before the game was over.
Ha!
True, true. None of those QBs is surviving behind our line.

Option
What’s the over/under for options plays today? I say 5.
Under
Herm wants to keep the element of surprise in his offense.
Wow, I can’t believe I just typed that.
by Chris Thorman on Sep 21, 2008 10:59 AM CDT up reply actions
Surprise
Maybe he should punt on 3rd downs. That would be a surprise.
Well not since you just
spoiled it. Now Herm and Chan are gonna have to try to come up with some plays to run on 3rd down!
Innovative
I don’t know why, but I like it..
by Joel Thorman on Sep 21, 2008 11:02 AM CDT up reply actions
If things start going south,
Just punt on first down, it could be like a long pass play!
Interesting...
especially since Colquitt is the MVP of the team.
And, after all, shouldn’t we be playing our best players as much as possible?
Nice touch
I hope Herm doesn’t read AP…he might take us seriously.

Alright, you got me.
I suppose I took the word “reason” to mean “understandable and/or rational reason”. That’s what I get for assuming things.
Booomer
Just said we will see Hewwrd at some point today, god not the carousel again!
If it comes down to that
Will we see some o-line changes?
Will it take a QB death
To break that continuity? Bad joke, but seriously!
Why he's our fearless leader
Chris, over on The Falcoholic’s gameday thread:
And here’s to no injuries. Or dogs harmed during the filming of this game.
Classic!
How many of you
Are going to need a virtual ride home from our online pub today?
Glad I bought my liquor in bulk today….
Haven't finished my breakfast yet
Ok, so I had a lie in this morning. The cat even obliged by not bothering me too much. So I think I need to finish my coffee before moving on to the bottles of Brooklyn Lager in the fridge.
I have to admit, I’m too embarrassed after last week to go out in public wearing a Chiefs top so I’m staying in.
Blame my wife!

He’s been watching Huard, he’s a man who knows how to take a sack.

It may end up being like a train wreck
but at least we’ll know more about Thigpen at the end of the day =)
can't call him i-77 because roaf was sooo good
i have a feeling teams are going to move their best rusher to the right side all year….just like the raiders did last week w/ burgess and now the falcons are doing w/ abraham

Whenever I think about the Falcons...
I can’t help but think about our game with them in 2004 where we scored EIGHT RUSHING TD’S! I don’t even think Priest Holmes saw the field for a single play in the 2nd half we were killing them so badly.
Atlanta Falcons 10 at Kansas City Chiefs 56

that was so weird,
the play-action roll-out, and then an easy pass to the flat. what was that, some kind of crazy new-fangled futuristic play calling? the chiefs couldn’t actually TRY that sort of thing, could they??
No, we can't try that.
The Falcons obviously found a way to steal playbooks from teams 50 years in the future, where NFL teams actually call crazy stuff like that.
nice!
he didn’t break the tackle, but it warms my heart to see LJ throw back the defender like that….
and then, a run for no gain

It’ll be tough but if the D makes some stops or just gives up big plays I think we can squeeze 17.

wouldn't mind giving play-action a try,
but as I mentioned in an earlier post, that kind of futuristic play-calling just isn’t what our offense can handle.
Let's just take a knee on every play

i just think we know what we have in huard. if we’re in a transitional period, and truly are rebuilding, why bring in a gray haired QB? dont we need to see what we have in our other QBs? i mean seriously, do you think we’re actually going to win this game? do you want huard to come in just for selfish reasons? i want us to figure out what we have in the qb’s we haven’t seen.
by The DBowe Show on Sep 21, 2008 1:00 PM CDT up reply actions

and then, if he’s no good, we can bring in huard so we can try to develop some of the receivers and running backs, because i do agree that a veteran presence helps that

I Have Now Seen It
The shittiest quarterback ever to take the field for the franchise.
I’m at the point where this doesn’t even bother me anymore…all I want is for our incompetent head coach to get fired. And losing to two teams that were as bad as us last year is the way to do it. Especially since neither team has a QB that’s any good and the Chiefs still can’t stop the run with eight men in the box.

they're gonna pound the defense now.
And the Atlanta fans are gonna get nasty. The place sounds like the only remaining fans are completely wasted.
Whistles, flags. Interceptions. Punts.
The worst football these poor people paid to see.
Fire Larry Johnson.
He needs to shut his mouth about getting carries. the reason he doesn’t get them is because he’s not enough of a professional to learn to play his position. Running backs have to pass-block at this level.
Lary Johnson is the reason that Larry Johnson’s not getting carries. Not Herm, not Chan – Larry!
by Bleedingredandgold on Sep 21, 2008 1:14 PM CDT reply actions
We can't afford to
Then again, can we afford NOT to?
No, Larry isn’t getting carries because they have to take him out when they have to shift to a pass-oriented offense. If he’s on the sideline, he can’t carry the ball.
He’s on the sideline now because of his choice to disregard pass-blocking. The press needs to hammer him on that point.
by Bleedingredandgold on Sep 21, 2008 1:19 PM CDT up reply actions
I used to think he was better
But his team isn’t playing. No one is doing anything.
Whose fault is that?
exactly.

Thigpen should be cut.... AT HALFTIME
Like I said last week and will continue to say. This guy has no business playing in the NFL. Perhaps one day he could play in the AFL or CFL.
He can’t throw the long ball
He can’t throw the short ball
He can’t read coverage
He can’t throw on the run
I can’t wait for Croyle to return – he looks like Joe Montana compared to Thigpen.
Congratulations, he finally threw a TD to Bowe… it was an ugly pass that Bowe had to twist backward to catch on his back hip.

i dare you
i double dog dare the falcons to keep this offense under 14 points
As a Falcons fan
I can sympathize with a bad QB situation. Let’s hope for your collective sanity that Croyle heals quickly.
Stubborn Herm
Honestly, I think that the only reason that we haven’t picked up Jeff Garcia yet is becuase Herm is so stubborn trying to grow a qb. I can kind of buy into that but, seriously something needs to change. Brodie goes down and we pick up Ingle Martin and start Thiggie. Thiggie got his chance……sucked it up, now please Herm do something……..
Thiggy stays in
Adjustments need to be made. What will they try?
I wasn't watching in the 80's
But this is the worst Chiefs team I have ever seen. Sadly, I don’t think it’s the player’s fault as much it is the coaches.
The stubbornness of our coaching staff is astounding. MacIntosh shouldn’t be playing, let alone starting. And Thigpen should have been on the curb last week.
Let Herb Taylor Start!
Seriously if we are truley “rebuilding” who cares about keeping the line the same.

Draft position the previous year
is not the best barometer for success this year. Case in point: the team that drafted #1 overall just beat the AFC champions of last year by 4 scores.
I feel like we could be a good team by the end of the year
if we can pull everything together.
Brodie
Because I think we will be in a positon that we will have put everything together, and I think Brodie will come through with a win.
Good game, guys
Sorry you had to be on the other end of it, but best of luck to you all in the future.

I don't know...
we can’t get overconfident about that one – the bye might sneak up and bite us in the ass.
I'm gonna be really freaked out
if the Chiefs make a game of it against the Broncos next week.
Sort of a bizzarro-world version of what the Jags would do for years – play near the level of their opponent, whomever that might be. Except when the Jags did that, they usually played just a little bit ABOVE the other team’s level.
lol yes thats an important little adendum
i think had brodie been healthy today wouldve been a good game. idk if we’dve won, but itve been a good game
Naming my son Brodie Damon
I don't either
Raiders in KC and at Atlanta were 2 of “easier” games
Well 0-16...
should bring some changes to the team
