Gannon all the way!

Need some o-lineman up there, where is Shields, Grunny, Roaf, Szott, and on and on?

by Eric Allen on Sep 21, 2008 10:40 AM CDT reply actions

Hey,

where’s the “All of the above” option?

Or I guess it could be “most of the above”, since we don’t need Green, Gannon and Dawson all at the same time. Of course, if we stick them behind the current O-line, we’d need all three before the game was over.

by Seth_C on Sep 21, 2008 10:49 AM CDT reply actions

Ha!

True, true. None of those QBs is surviving behind our line.

by Chris Thorman on Sep 21, 2008 10:51 AM CDT up reply actions

Option

What’s the over/under for options plays today? I say 5.

by ashleylat on Sep 21, 2008 10:58 AM CDT reply actions

Under

Herm wants to keep the element of surprise in his offense.

Wow, I can’t believe I just typed that.

by Chris Thorman on Sep 21, 2008 10:59 AM CDT up reply actions

Surprise

Maybe he should punt on 3rd downs. That would be a surprise.

by ashleylat on Sep 21, 2008 11:00 AM CDT up reply actions

Well not since you just

spoiled it. Now Herm and Chan are gonna have to try to come up with some plays to run on 3rd down!

by Seth_C on Sep 21, 2008 11:01 AM CDT up reply actions

Innovative

I don’t know why, but I like it..

by Joel Thorman on Sep 21, 2008 11:02 AM CDT up reply actions

If things start going south,

Just punt on first down, it could be like a long pass play!

by Eric Allen on Sep 21, 2008 11:03 AM CDT reply actions

Interesting...

especially since Colquitt is the MVP of the team.

And, after all, shouldn’t we be playing our best players as much as possible?

by Seth_C on Sep 21, 2008 11:05 AM CDT up reply actions

Nice touch

I hope Herm doesn’t read AP…he might take us seriously.

Alright, you got me.

by Eric Allen on Sep 21, 2008 11:11 AM CDT reply actions

I've got a hunch we'll see Huard too,

but it’ll be because we had to scrape Bones off the field.

Ok, so I had a lie in this morning. The cat even obliged by not bothering me too much. So I think I need to finish my coffee before moving on to the bottles of Brooklyn Lager in the fridge.

I have to admit, I’m too embarrassed after last week to go out in public wearing a Chiefs top so I’m staying in.

the play-action roll-out, and then an easy pass to the flat. what was that, some kind of crazy new-fangled futuristic play calling? the chiefs couldn’t actually TRY that sort of thing, could they??

by thehulk on Sep 21, 2008 12:35 PM CDT reply actions

No, we can't try that.

The Falcons obviously found a way to steal playbooks from teams 50 years in the future, where NFL teams actually call crazy stuff like that.

by Seth_C on Sep 21, 2008 12:57 PM CDT reply actions

personally

i just think we know what we have in huard. if we’re in a transitional period, and truly are rebuilding, why bring in a gray haired QB? dont we need to see what we have in our other QBs? i mean seriously, do you think we’re actually going to win this game? do you want huard to come in just for selfish reasons? i want us to figure out what we have in the qb’s we haven’t seen.

The shittiest quarterback ever to take the field for the franchise.

I’m at the point where this doesn’t even bother me anymore…all I want is for our incompetent head coach to get fired. And losing to two teams that were as bad as us last year is the way to do it. Especially since neither team has a QB that’s any good and the Chiefs still can’t stop the run with eight men in the box.

Fire Larry Johnson.

He needs to shut his mouth about getting carries. the reason he doesn’t get them is because he’s not enough of a professional to learn to play his position. Running backs have to pass-block at this level.

Lary Johnson is the reason that Larry Johnson’s not getting carries. Not Herm, not Chan – Larry!

by Vince D on Sep 21, 2008 1:14 PM CDT up reply actions

Larry isn't getting the carries

because it would take 50+ of them to get him a 100 yds.

by Idahochief on Sep 21, 2008 1:16 PM CDT up reply actions

No, Larry isn’t getting carries because they have to take him out when they have to shift to a pass-oriented offense. If he’s on the sideline, he can’t carry the ball.

He’s on the sideline now because of his choice to disregard pass-blocking. The press needs to hammer him on that point.

Thigpen’s not doing any worse than Croyle did, getting started. Maybe he can learn faster than Croyle.

Oh, and Thigpen doesn’t go out of the game if the defense thinks mean thoughts about him.

thigpen

is most certainly doing worse than croyle did when he was getting started

by The DBowe Show on Sep 21, 2008 1:29 PM CDT up reply actions

Croyle had a better line then. Anyway, I don’t expect much from the first start.

as far as I’m concerned, Croyle’s done.

by Eric Allen on Sep 21, 2008 1:33 PM CDT reply actions

Thigpen should be cut.... AT HALFTIME

Like I said last week and will continue to say. This guy has no business playing in the NFL. Perhaps one day he could play in the AFL or CFL.

He can’t throw the long ball
He can’t throw the short ball
He can’t read coverage
He can’t throw on the run

I can’t wait for Croyle to return – he looks like Joe Montana compared to Thigpen.

Congratulations, he finally threw a TD to Bowe… it was an ugly pass that Bowe had to twist backward to catch on his back hip.

That was a good throw

by dklogue1 on Sep 21, 2008 1:34 PM CDT reply actions

no it wasn't

it was a good catch by Bowe, it was a shitty pass by Thigpen… again.

Stubborn Herm

Honestly, I think that the only reason that we haven’t picked up Jeff Garcia yet is becuase Herm is so stubborn trying to grow a qb. I can kind of buy into that but, seriously something needs to change. Brodie goes down and we pick up Ingle Martin and start Thiggie. Thiggie got his chance……sucked it up, now please Herm do something……..

by Prospero15 on Sep 21, 2008 1:36 PM CDT reply actions

by AngryJesus on Sep 21, 2008 1:37 PM CDT reply actions

I wasn't watching in the 80's

But this is the worst Chiefs team I have ever seen. Sadly, I don’t think it’s the player’s fault as much it is the coaches.

The stubbornness of our coaching staff is astounding. MacIntosh shouldn’t be playing, let alone starting. And Thigpen should have been on the curb last week.
