Turk McBride Injured Spleen
From the FanPosts. -Chris
Apparently the injury Turk McBride suffered in the Oakland game was a spleen that was bruised seriously enough that he vomited blood after getting hit. Fortunately he appears to be on the road to recovery and should return soon, although his status against the Falcons was uncertain.
The second-year left end said he hoped to play against Atlanta but that he wasn’t yet certain of his status. He was limited in Thursday’s practice.
“We’re basically just taking it day by day,” McBride said. “My mindset is, I’m playing.”
Given the lack of options behind him and the Chiefs' struggles along the defensive line after he left, McBride's return will be welcomed by fans...who are also grateful that the injury wasn't as serious as the one suffered by Chris Simms.
It's a brutal world up there on the line.

I was wondering what the deal was
Didn’t make sense to be out for days because of a “stomach” as Herm said. Spleen makes a lot more sense.
Hopefully he can recover quick from it. He’s been making some moves this year and we really need that.

Was this the same or similar injury
that Tamba finally admitted playing with last year?

And does anyone know if he is married?
Someone might need to question his and his wifes cojones.

Also Unless You're Harrison Ford In "Patriot Games"
“They had to remove her spleen!!!” (sobs)
Seriously, I did know a guy who had to have his spleen taken out after a really nasty car wreck. It really messed him up for quite awhile. He played rugby before the injury and I was trying to recruit him for our team (even after he’d recovered) but he just couldn’t do it…physically he was not the same. That’s part of the reason I was so put off on signing Chris Simms.

So by your previous logic
both primetime and UCrawford immediately need to call for McBride’s release.
Just sayin’. Injuries is injuries, right?

Ruptured Versus Bruised
It would only be an issue if Turk had to get cut on and have it taken out…bruised spleens that don’t require surgery aren’t exactly common, but they happen and most of the time the player is fine.

Just Like
I wouldn’t be up for releasing a player for having a couple of black eyes as opposed, say, to having his eyes removed. :)

Um.
Yeah, no. I know you like to pull everything back to Peterson and Herm’s fault, but there have been a lot of times over the last couple of years where LJ has actually veered back into a tackle. I think he thinks the best way to get to the second level is to break through like the Kool-Aid guy.
