Tyler Thigpen Now On A Short Leash

From the FanPosts. This was posted late last night but I've bumped it up for this morning's post. We've got another post coming up at 10 AM. -Chris

Adam Teicher is apparently skeptical about the decision to start Tyler Thigpen on Sunday.

Tyler Thigpen’s performance at quarterback in the first extended playing time of his NFL career Sunday was less than inspiring. He completed far less than half his passes, was sacked three times, tossed an interception and almost threw several others.

For many teams, that would bury a player deeper on the bench. But for the Chiefs, it earned him a promotion.

But it looks like Tyler Thigpen will be treading thin ice in his playing time against the Falcons, according to Herm Edwards.

“We’re not looking at this game as a preseason game,” he said. “We’re trying to win. We’re doing everything we can to do that, and this kid deserves a chance.

“If he struggles, guess what? We’ll do what we always do. We’ll bring Damon Huard off the bench. That’s how Damon Huard really plays the best, in my opinion, when he comes off the bench.”

Fortunately for the Chiefs, Damon Huard's "neck injury" hasn't appeared to linger.

Edwards said the move had nothing to do with the head or neck injury that knocked Huard out of last week’s game. Huard practiced Wednesday and was not listed on the injury report the Chiefs must file with the league.

So the Chiefs have faith in Tyler Thigpen's ability to start and quarterback the game on Sunday.  Unless he struggles, in which case he's gone for Huard.  Unless Huard struggles, in which case he's back in.  But then Thigpen may get more starts anyway because Herm doesn't like Huard as a starter.  Oh, and apparently we may get to see more of Marques Hagans at quarterback.  Because that worked out so well for us last Sunday.  Then Herm rambled on about how impressive Tyler Thigpen looked in the preseason and in a game he played last year where he went 2 of 6 for 41 yards with an INT which the Chiefs lost by two touchdowns.

Buy your alcohol in bulk...it's going to be a long Sunday.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here.

Tyler Thigpen will lead us to a victory on Sunday. I have alot of hope that we have the next Tony Romo, I’m also really drunk right now. Heres hoping the alcohol doesn’t wear off before Sunday.

I must say...

Huard really did stink it up that season he led us to the playoffs only to be benched when we got there.. I doubt that pissed him off at all.

I can’t wait to see Thigpen out there Sunday, honestly. Until he actually has to take a snap and do something with the ball anyway.

And I always buy my booze in bulk. Not only is it cheaper, but it save me gas money from having to make repeat trips to the liquor store.

have you seen my baseball?

11 TDs To 1 INT That Year

I honestly have no clue what the Chiefs were thinking. Not that it would have made a difference anyway because that Indy team stomped us and would have even with Huard in. They were a good defensive team once they got Bob Sanders back that year and Herm has no clue what to do against a good defensive team that can also play offense.

Glad To See He Has A Sense Of Humor

Seems like a nice enough guy. I’d probably like him a lot more if he wasn’t our starting QB.

Changed A Block Quote

Don’t know if I botched that last night or if you changed it, Chris, but the piece I just changed to a quote was actually written by Teicher, not me. Sorry.
