If you have any Kansas City Chiefs WR/TE on your roster (Bowe, Gonzalez) trade them now. Sell while they are still somewhat high. QB Tyler Thigpen ruins any chance of those players being fantasy contributors.
Sage advice, fantasy owners. Why did I draft LJ #7 overall in one of my fantasy drafts? Homerism knows no bounds. -Chris

Rotoworld Was Equally Pessimistic
The Chiefs will go with Tyler Thigpen at QB in Week 3 against Atlanta. It will be Thigpen’s first NFL start and he’s the Chiefs’ third starting QB in as many games. Damon Huard has a head injury, but judging by Thigpen’s Week 2 performance, a concussed Huard would be better. Downgrade Tony Gonzalez and Dwayne Bowe in what would’ve been a nice on-paper matchup. Also expect Larry Johnson to see constant eight- and nine-man fronts.

Oh, And Chris
Why did I draft LJ #7 overall in one of my fantasy drafts?
I’m currently asking myself the same question about Steven Jackson in my non-AP fantasy league. I dumped Tony Romo so Jackson could be my keeper and get me 7 points a week behind a line almost as bad as the Chiefs’.

Seems like
a few years ago, running backs were the way to go in fantasy, depending on your scoring system of course.
Now, there are few RBs I would take in the top five anymore.

They Still Generally Are The Way To Go
If you can get two primary backs. We had two keepers in that other league so I made sure to keep Steven Jackson and Marshawn Lynch. But who knew that an Al Saunders offense would look this toothless?

Not for long
More and more teams are moving to the 2 back sets which isn’t good news for RBs in fantasy. Besides, the league is transitioning to a passing league which will put more emphasis on WRs in fantasy (T.O. – 16 TDs, Moss 23 TDs).

True
You’re always going to have some running backs in the top, though, but there will be fewer of them because most will be complementary backs or in a platoon situation. Fortunately I’ve got four right now in my other league who look to be primaries for the forseeable future (Jackson, Lynch, Forte, Kevin Smith). Unfortunately my QB slot is a mess and my WR corps is not looking so hot now that Roy Williams is getting frozen out in Detroit.

Homerism in Drafting
But for those of us who didn’t draft LJ, we have an opportunity to get him in a trade for CHEAP right now coming off a 2.2 point performance. Chan Gailey makes backs into thousand yard rushers at least. And when Brodie gets back I think our more balanced offense will give LJ some running lanes. Last year we had a team that started off alright and declined as the season progressed. The idea with this season is that it will work the opposite way, that we start off weak and as the kids get more reps, we become a stronger and better team. But a lot of Chiefs player fantasy owners right now will panic and the deals will be out there.
And that is not homerism in FF management, that is forecasting and getting value when someone is down. The proof of my lack of homerism is the fact that I drafted Jay Cutler. It makes me wanna vomit when I think about it. But I think everyone would agree that a Cutler in the sixth was a steal so far.

I Drafted Cutler
In the AP league. Should have drafted him in the other, but like an idiot I drafted Carson Palmer in what appears to be his worst ever season. Now Palmer’s my 3rd stringer behind J.T. O’Sullivan and Jon Kitna (who I got for Dwayne Bowe in a very prescient trade).

Kitna
Do you know anything about Stanton? Kitna apparently got into a shouting match with his coaches week 1, then walked off the field before the play was over after he threw a pick.

Not Really
He was a rookie last year but didn’t play much. I think he got hurt. Kitna seems to be doing okay for now (although he melted down last week at the end), but I could definitely see him losing playing time if Stanton’s grasping the offense.

I saw that link you posted about my obsession with Cutler. Pretty funny.

Same boat.
I took Phillip Rivers in the sixth round. He’s actually been outscoring my starter (Romo) thus far.

Hey, I picked
Tom Brady with my first choice and then LJ with my second. I’m screwed!

I had Brady on both my teams.
Luckily I had Aaron Rodgers as a backup on one of them.

My keepers from last year
I kept Steven Jackson and Larry Johnson (traded for him after he got hurt) this year enough said, but also had the fourth pick in the draft so at least I have Drew Brees and Anquan Boldin

Wow, just read that on Deadspin...
Which is sadder, that I didn’t recognize our QB and thought it was one of Chris’ jackass buddies messing with the site, OR that THIS is our starting QB?
