I'm not a Defensive Coordinator...

but here's what i would do if I was...

1. Let Tank Tyler play every down of every game. He's going to be the man. Trust me on this Tank will be the MVP of our defense in '08. His progress from '07 to '08 gives me hope that Glenn Dorsey will do the same and we might have one of the better DT's in the league.

2. Keep Boone away from LDE. Just play Johnston so he can get some playing time in and become the player that he is meant to be.

3. Wonder who I want to draft  for MLB next spring. My guess is Maualuga. Pat Thomas is just not working out. How could you not take the guy who is 6'2" 260, runs a 4.6 and is touted to be the next great USC/Samoan MLB. He's going to be great. Poeple worry about the number of tackles he gets, but USC has a number of playmakers on defense and there can only be so many tackles in a game. You need not worry about Rey succeeding in the NFL.

4. Be patient with Glenn Dorsey, actually Just be patient with our defense. It's young and we have great, young talent on defense, we just need to give them time to develop.

we're doing the wrong things with Dorsey

he’s not a space eater. His forte is penetration into the backfield and disrupting plays. By making him stay there and take double teams, we’re actually playing into his only real weakness (he’s too light to do that)

Pat Thomas? Really?

I thought he did pretty darn good. I saw him in on a bunch of plays, running all around the field. I’d rather draft a QB in round one and an LB in round two… maybe Sean Weatherspoon from Mizzou? :)

Homer

just kidding, I like Weatherspoon…(I have no idea if Round 2 is reaching or not)

Agree with Vince

Besides taking Weatherspoon in round two….
