I liked what I saw out of Chiefs rookie right tackle Barry Richardson. Though he was going against second- and third-stringers in the second half, Richardson didn't allow a sack and run blocked pretty well. I'd like to see him get a crack at the starting lineup.

Anyone else think

That since we are trully rebuilding, B-Rich should start getting reps with the first team, Mac is not going to cut it. He is injury prone, and seemed to get beat regularly last night. Adrian Jones did not play well either, they need to make some adjustments.

Richardson

I agree he looked pretty good. Mcintosh continues to underwhelm me. He’s old, mediocre and struggles to stay healthy. I think we will need Richardson to start before the end of the season

Double talk on my part

I’ve been saying that one of Herm’s faults is too much time spent evaluating players, moving them around and focusing on competition during the preseason. So I was thrilled when he settled on the five guys who would go at o line and work them as a unit to prepare for the season.

BUT…

If after the second preseason game it appears the right side isn’t cutting it, I hope he will make the switch and get a couple different guys in there. It seems that Richardson and Herb Taylor would fill out the right side nicely when Albert returns. Richardson might be a little worse than D Mac in the first game of the year, but I assume Richards would be significantly better by the end and then ready to go for next year. Herm has said that they’ll try to get the five best guys on the line. I trust the coaches to see more in game film than I do in brief glimpses, but is there a former-Jets-halo filter on the video when they watch tape of Jones?

Darling

Are we making a mistake starting him over the younger guys?

Is he starting?

He is only 26 years old. And, after the Bears game I would say Franklin is our number 2.

I kind of like Maurice Price at number 2

as long as he keeps performing well. And then keep Franklin in the slot.
