Kansas City Chiefs At Chicago Bears - Gameday Thread
Kansas City Chiefs at Chicago Bears, Aug 7, 2008 7:00 PM CDT
You know the drill. Check out all the great FanPosts recently and it's all been culminating in actually seeing some football.
Croyle and a few other starters are expected to see "extended" time.
I would imagine the tailgating scene at Soldier Field is pretty bare right now considering the recent ban on in-game tailgating.
It's finally here....GO Chiefs!

If Pennington were going anywhere
Wouldn’t he want to get a deal done quickly? He’s gotta get into a camp someplace.
Woot!
I heard a few plaintive ”..home of the Chiefs” there at the end of the anthem.
btw – in the other thread I mentioned it might be an Adblock issue with the 101thefox media player link as it has the letters a-d-s in the link, try whitelisting it.
Blame my wife!
As the season goes on
I think the automatic new comment refresh will be pretty nice. No need to refresh the page.
This goes beyond low def
I feel like I’m watching this played on Tecmo Super Bowl.
I’m liking the rollouts so far. Everything else, not as much.
Plasma
I’m enjoying it in Full High Def…; )

Offense doesn't look smooth
First, it looked like Croyle through it in went Bowe went out, and then LJ and Croyle weren’t sure about a handoff.
But if the ball hits the ground like that
It won’t be ruled a catch. He came up with it and even fumbled it a bit.
I guess it makes me feel better
That TG and Bowe are probably two of the better players that go up and get the ball
franklin
took a hit right there and still hung on. Sweet!
MISSOURI: sucking at basketball doesn't make you a football school
LJ lost his focus
That endzone is awfully bright – his eyes aren’t used to it.

Goota represent, even in the preseason. That said...
nice drive boys. Oline looked good enough for the first series of the year.
I'm confused
Did we just drive down the field eating up most of the quarter and actually score a TD?
Blame my wife!
A friend...
said this the other day, “John Kitna is now the best QB in the NFC North.” How said is that?
Dude this looks familiar
One good drive and then, putt, putt!
true
reps don’t count for much if you’re the starter playing behind the 3rd string o-line

Love calling a timeout with a minute
and we’re on offense
either aggressiveness, or just more evaluation time
Scary comment from Chan Gailey
“If you do things not to lose the game then you put yourself in a position to win the game.”
The ‘play not to lose’ syndrome?
Dorsey will have a much better career than Allen.
So much of the Allen hype was because this town loves white athletes.
Maybe it'll work out
And he’ll be awesome. But I don’t want to spend nearly 10% of the salary cap on one player.
That should be reserved for QBs.
That KC loves white athletes?
The fact that LJ was expendable but lossing Allen was the end of the world. The fact that no one in this town will question Sweeney’s steroid use. That Boerigter got the play he did. The love affair with Boomer Grigsby, and how Casey Printers didn’t get a shake. I love the scrapy white guy as much as the next but I think, in this town, the above average white athlete gets a free pass too often.
I blame Roy Williams.
I f Casey Printers could hold onto a snap
Maybe he would still be here. A runningback is a product of a good o-line and blocking scheme, the Donkeys have proved this for years. Look at Derrick Blaylock, ran well behind a hall of fame line falls off the face of the earth after. What makes LJ expendable? How many sacks could he alone have stopped if he would have made 1 key block? Jared Allen WAS our D-fense for a couple of years.
I liked Allen too...
I just don’t think it was the end of the world when he left. Actually, I think with the picks we got, we’ll be better off without him.
We added some some
good players off of home grown talent.
Alright kids, I'm overall pleased with our performance...
but its time to watch last nights Hard Knocks. Go Chefs.
It was a long wait
Between games 9 and 10.

chiefs bears
Haven’t seen game yet. Listened to it on fox. Sounded like pretty typical first preseason game. Thigpen sounded a little shakey at first. But it sounded like he recovered nicely. Defense got gashed a few times. From hearing it didn’t notice too many penalties which seems impressive for the first preseason game. Can’t wait to catch it on NFL network! Overall pretty pleased with it. GO CHIEFS!
