Around SBN: Leandro Damiao Is Still Really Good

The month-long saga has finally come to an end, with the Packers trading their future Hall-of-Fame quarterback to the New York Jets.

The exact compensation was not immediately known, but it is believed to be a single draft pick that increases in value depending upon how the Jets perform during the 2008 season.

Herm loves former Jets players.

If He Hits The Open Market

I think Pennington comes to KC.

Supporting the lesser of two evils is still supporting something evil.

Shocked at first, but I kinda like it

Favre vs. Brady twice a year?

Favre to Coles, Cotchery and Keller. Ole Bubba Franks will sneak in here and there. Can he work in some action to Brad Smith?

Pennington is as good as gone. I fear he may land with us. I don’t know if that’s an upgrade on Huard or not.

Are you serious? Pennington if he comes here will not only overtake Huard but he will eventually leap frog Thigpen as the number 2….Pennington is not an amazing starter but if he is your backup and you only need him for a couple of games he is an amazing option…not only is he smart and can make decent decions he has game experince and has won some games…..Thigpen does not….and Huard can’t anymore….im all for this

two words

Noodle Arm

Yeah he would be a good mentor to Croyle, and since I’m not a fan of Thigpen I wouldn’t be surprised, or care, if he overtook the #2 spot. He’s old with an arm that has been blown out twice.

I don’t know if him taking the #2 spot says as much about Pimpington as it does about our other two backups.

Word is that Miami is making a play for him. So this discussion is likely moot anyway. I don’t think we will aggressively pursue him if another team is bidding higher.

Pennington

I’d rather have Pennington as a mentor for Croyle than Huard. At least the guy has played and had some success in the NFL in the past.

Regarding Favre to the Jets. Wow. The Jets spent a bundle in free agency this year and now are taking on Favres salary. If they don’t win this year, they will (continue to be) horrible for years to come.

I wish that Favre had gone to KC,

then the Chiefs might get some coverage on NFLN.
:P

Pennington...

Dudes got a noodle arm. The thought of him wearing red already has me punching myself in the crotch.

I Wouldn't Mind Seeing Pennington Here

In case you guys haven’t checked out the numbers, Pennington and his rag arm were better deep passers than Croyle last season :) Plus, his other stats weren’t bad. He was .1% short of his career high for completion percentage and his TDs outnumbered INTs (but only slightly). He’d be an outstanding number 2 for us.

Supporting the lesser of two evils is still supporting something evil.

I agree

We could definately use him as a number 2 and if we can get him for a good price I say do it.
