Morning Update (Pregame Edition)
- The Chiefs current depth chart.
- Chiefs 2008 Season preview--pretty typical stuff.
- Arrowhead Addict takes a look at Oliver "Pop" Hoyte - our newest linebacker.
- Kyle Orton will start for the Bears tomorrow night.
- So will second round rookie Matt Forte.
- Cracking down on tailgating at Soldier Field.
- Herm when he was asked if the Chiefs inquired about Favre's availability: "Not to my knowledge. I don’t answer my phone. I have one; I don’t even have the number."
One more day until the preseason opener. The Bears should be a good test for the first series or two--basically however much Brodie plays is what I'm interested in. The rest of the pieces can fall into place but it's nearly impossible to make a deep run with an inferior QB.
Anyone doing anything cool for the game?

On The Tailgating Story
Unless they’re having trouble selling out Soldier Field, or unless they’re having a large problem with fights in the parking lot, this has got to be one of the stupidest policies yet. Perfect way to alienate your customer base. No wonder the Bears have been such a crappy franchise for 20 years (and yes, I include the 2006 Super Bowl appearance because I think it was a fluke).

Yeah it's pretty outrageous
Don’t they pay $20-30 to get in anyway?

No Clue
I’ve got a couple of buddies who are rabid Bears fans, I’ll ask them. Wonder what they’ll think of this policy.

I mean a parking pass at Arrowhead
Is what? $30? If these people are paying to get in, then if I’m the Bears I take the money and run.

That Assumes Competence On The Bears' Part
The family that runs that team are peopled by incompetents. I think they brought back Mike McCaskey to help run things…he’d be the guy who ran off Ditka and contributed to countless bad drafts during his tenure as GM. He’s the son or son-in-law of the owner and she fired him, but apparently had second thoughts about it. Just a joke of a franchise, almost on a par with Arizona.

Sucks
I live in the area and Bears games have a reputation for being pretty rowdy, and nothing you would subject a younger family to. It’s more of a Bear fan only, or adult with somewhat older children, experience. However, I don’t think this is the way to go about controlling the situation. Sad really, because not all Bear fans are drunken idiots, but it’s the old addage of a few ruining it for everyone else.

By charging $30 at the door

I think I'm actually going to the game
I live in KC and had planned a trip up to Chicago a month or so ago and never even thought to look at the preseason schedule. Not until last week did I realize that I’d be up there while the Chiefs are, so I’m planning on going to the stadium and trying to get a ticket (they should still be available for a reasonable place, right?) tomorrow night. Currently trying to talk some buddies who live up there to go, might be making the trip by myself. I’ll let everyone know how it goes.

Yeah, you'll have to let us know how it goes
Or at least how it compares.
I saw tickets somewhere online, maybe stub hub, and they were $33 for what I believe were upper level. So not bad, relatively speaking.
