Like the New Orleans Saints team itself, I'm gettin' out of Dodge. By the time you guys read this this morning, I will be sitting in bumper to bumper contraflow traffic on my way to a Comfort Inn outside of Memphis as Gustav prepares to impose it's will on the Gulf Coast.
With a little luck, I will have access to a decent internet connection and still be able to give you guys the same quality Saints coverage you have come to expect. I will be honest with you, however, and say that my heart really isn't into it as much as it normally is right now. Faced with the threat of losing valuable possessions, not having a source of income and my life being turned upside down in general, I am finding it hard to write anything of substance.
CSC and Saints Evacuate - Canal Street Chronicles
Good luck to you Dave! And good luck to everyone else in the path of Hurricane Gustav.
Any AP readers evacuating or (gulp) staying in the path of Gustav?

Our guys (firemen) are getting ready to deploy
to Southern Mississippi. We will deploy in 5 man teams each week until the cleanup is done. Think about us often if you can. Its funny, every time people are running away from the problems, were heading in. But we wouldn’t have it any other way. Its a real site seeing the traffic problems heading north and we have none heading south…LOL.

Stay safe man
Everyone of you guys earned my respect after Sept 11. There was mass chaos, and you guys never gave up, putting yourselves in harms way for the sake of others. At least this time people are taking the threat seriously and getting out.

New Orleans Chris
Our son work at Tropical Isle lived in Kenner when Katrina hit what a mess . Hope for the best in this storm as Orleans hasn’t recovered from Katrina yet. Our son went back but it just wasn’t the same. We loved JoescrabShack & the light house both where gone after Katrina . Good luck To our adopted city . Oh we where there when it snowed that was a site.

Any prayers and thoughts welcome.
We have three very good friends who have evacuated NOLA (but left behind a just-renovated beautiful house in the Quarter and another property in the Marigny) and one other good friend (and her boyfriend) who have elected to stay…as well as many other people we peripherially know through them, many of whom have stayed.
I will be sleeping little if at all tonight as I pray for the city of my heart. Any additional help is appreciated.

Well it seems
N.O. made it through, without a whole lot of damage.
