Around SBN: Cal RB Jahvid Best Seriously Injured, Carted Off Field

Kansas City is often referred to as the Green Bay of the AFC when it comes to fans. KC has a small-town feel, and the fans completely buy into the Chiefs. Arrowhead Stadium is a sea of red and the party begins early. There's nothing like arriving at a Chiefs game and smelling miles of smoking BBQ hours before game time.

ESPN - NFL's best fans? We gotta hand it to Steelers (barely) - NFL

The Chiefs come in at #5 and the Rams at #29. That sounds about right for the Rams.

Argh...

I hate the Stillers. I can’t say that I agree. I think the Chiefs, Browns and Eagles have the best fans, because we’ve stood by teams that haven’t won Super Bowl after Super Bowl.

Philly Fans?

The fans who boo their players obsessively in every sport? The fans who’ve turned on Mike Schmidt and Donovan McNabb and every decent player who’s ever come through that city (except maybe Darren Daulton)? The fans who threw snowballs at some kid playing Santa Claus because they were pissed at the Eagles’ team owner? The fans who cheered when Michael Irvin got a spinal injury? You think they’re among the best fans in the NFL?

I can be pretty critical of some Chiefs players from time to time but at least I try to keep it objective and performance-based. People who show up to stadiums just to rip on the players, even if those players are generally great, aren’t fans…they’re losers with miserable lives who are trying to make themselves feel better by ripping on people who can’t fight back. They need a shrink and a dose of anti-psychotics, not a winning pro franchise.

I’d rate Cleveland fans well above Philadelphia.

By Way Of Analogy

Saying that Philadelphia fans are great because they show up to abuse players on a regular basis is kind of like saying that a guy who constantly calls his wife a “fatass cow” is a great husband because he’s at least paying attention to her.

Is our season ticket waiting list really down to none??

Am I nutso or does it seem like not so long ago that our season ticket waiting list was something insane… like years deep, not unlike Green Bay. Did this recent slide really cause that much of a backlash that we now have season tickets available? Or was it the recent price jacking that caused so many to become available? My curiosity is piqued.

I'd Suspect

That it has something to do with the fans being unhappy in the knowledge that their team hasn’t been very good for awhile, combined with the rising ticket prices. Nobody wants to shell out higher prices for what they perceive as a declining product.

It's a sad day for the NFL

when a Texas team is #23 on that list. I thought that Texas was THE hotbed of football in this country…at least that’s what ESPN spews forth weekly.

That's High School Football

My brother-in-law is a Cowboys fan and he’s about as passionate a football fan as you’re going to find. He had some pretty awesome season tickets to the Cowboys games until this year when Jerry Jones decided to hit him with a $16,000 personal seat license (because he’s not passionate enough to go into hock to watch games).

Considering the amount of coverage and the following they get I think the Cowboys are a little underrated on the list (although they do have a lot of frontrunners in their fanbase).

Supporting the lesser of two evils is still supporting something evil.
