The Kansas City Chiefs will again have a killer fantasy season with Trent Green, Priest Holmes and Dante Hall all putting up big numbers yet again.
Wait a second. What year is this? 2008? Wow, for some reason when I thought of the Kansas City Chiefs and fantasy football my mind only remembers through the 2003 season. Oh well. I'll do my best to update you on this year's best fantasy player and best sleeper.

Leery of Tony G in fantasy
Tony G is the best.
But why might his stats suffer this year?
1. He doesn’t seem to be high on Croyle’s pecking order for targets. Didn’t most of Tony’s numbers last year come from Huard? Hopefully Croyle goes to him more.
2. Cottam. Cottam may get some of the TE catches that would have gone exclusively to TG last year. Some two TE sets.
3. Jamaal and Kolby. When we need a third down conversion, more passes are going to these two than last year, I believe.
4. Right tackle may need help. I don’t think they’ll make Tony block as much as two years ago, but the right side of the line isn’t exactly the rock of Gibraltar yet.

Good points
- is the most valid IMO. It was tough making the case for any Chiefs player as a good fantasy prospect.

Yep
Good call on the sleepers, though. Can’t do just one. The whole team could be defined as a sleeper, couldn’t it? If sleeper is defined as someone who will do much better than expectations. I’d say Bowe is about as close to a sure thing as we’ve got, but where has the love been from his roommate in the preseason? Actually, there were a lot of throws to Bowe early in the first game, but then Croyle must be under orders to spread it around to see what other people have got. Yet, still no completions to Darling. Who? I know.
The fade pass to Bowe that Croyle threw ten yards too far bothers me a little. Reason: Has Croyle’s pendulum regarding risk swung so far towared avoidance that he’s not going to let Bowe win the ball this year? Those were a good portion of our yards last year as I recall. No, I don’t want turnovers, but you can’t play scared either.

I Had Tony G Last Year
I traded away Kellen Winslow and Jamal Lewis so I could get Steven Jackson and Tony G in week 3. Overall Tony did better with Huard in the lineup but he wasn’t horrible with Croyle throwing to him either. Tony Gonzalez will get his catches and yards this year assuming he hasn’t lost much off his athleticism (something we’ll only really know once the games start). I’m not so sure about anyone else on the team though…I’ve got Dwayne Bowe on my squad this year and I’m kind of glad I only have to start him for one or two weeks.

Hope Bowe is gold for you
In the second half of the season. Well, first half, too. Just sayin.

It'd Be Nice
But I’m not that optimistic. I just needed a WR3 and he happened to be the best available player on the board when I picked I’ve already got Larry Fitzgerald and Roy Williams to start at WR (and Marshawn Lynch, Steven Jackson, Matt Forte and Kevin Smith to handle the running back and flex positions). But judging from the Chiefs’ offensive issues, some of the guys I drafted behind him (Ted Ginn, Brandon Stokely, even DeSean Jackson) might end up playing ahead of Bowe. Not a knock on Bowe, I’m just not optimistic that his QB can get him the ball.

what!!
you traded away Winslow?!?! BUT HE’S A SOLDIER!!!
I can’t stand that guy. Does Cleveland play San Diego this year? I hope Winslow and Merriman have a collision on a crossing pattern and both of them sprain their vagina’s so bad that they miss the rest of the season. I guess Merriman could hurt his knee in the process too.

I Would Have Kept Winslow
Since he’s a lot younger than Gonzalez (although that might not be a big factor with Winslow’s bad knees) but the dude offered me Steven Jackson and Gonzalez and all I had to give up was Winslow and Jamal Lewis so it took me all of three seconds to say yes.
And yes, I agree that Kellen Winslow is something of a tool in real life. But in fantasy football, it’s all about winning games for me and fortunately it’s not like I have to ever deal with those guys’ personalities in real life :)

I remember
Most of the d-bag “fantasy experts” telling everyone to stay away from Tony last year. All he did was post 1100+ yards and a bushel of TD’s and go to the Pro Bowl.
I never count Tony out… never.

He'll Be Solid This Year
I just like his ability to produce more with Damon Huard at QB than Brodie Croyle. He was a top five TE with Huard, probably top ten with Croyle.

Forgot about Charles...
He may be the best sleeper if things go south.
