Trent Green
My boss was nice enough to give me two tickets and a parking pass for the Lambs, maybe I did something wrong and he is trying to kill me! Anyway I was wondering how Trent will be welcomed back to Arrowhead? He was always a class act when here and did alot for the community. His Tailgating with Trent thing was a good time. What are some of your thoughts? If Trent plays, will he still be familiar enough with our defense to dice us up? Also returning with Trent is Al Saunders, is there enough hard feelings there for him to pour it on a little bit just to torment Carl and Herm. Will our defense be familiar enough with the system to slow it or shut it down? The main question will we look better at home than we did at Miami?
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.

Good reception, I'm sure.
I’m sure most Chiefs fans appreciate what Trent Green meant to Kansas City and there will be some applause for him if he is announced in the stadium.

Agree
and our defense is different enough that Green would have no more insight than anyone else who watched film of our first three games.

I agree
I think Trent left with a good feeling about the City and its fans. He is just a good all around guy and will be treated with respect. Any boos would be just because he is with the Rams. I think he told Peterson he still owns his house in KC and will return one day.

That's Nice To Hear
Quite a few pro athletes seem to settle in KC permanently after their careers are over. Lawrence Tynes apparently lives in KC in the offseason. Joe Carter retired to this area and he didn’t even play for the Royals. Just a good place to live, and relatively inexpensive compared to other large cities.
Supporting the lesser of two evils is still supporting something evil.

I hope he is not booed
I always liked Trent, I just hope it is not the same scene with him being carried off the field.

I respect him
I’d like to see the fans and KC welcome him back wildly. He was a true class act and I believe he really wanted to end his career as a Chief, even though it just wasn’t feasable at the time. I really would like to see him return someday as a part of the franchise….Quarterbacks Coach anyone?
I hope he loses the game, but wins in all of his other endevors.

Booing
Booing is classless no matter the case. I really hope Trent doesn’t get booed. He did as much as he could and always left it on the field. If not for a terrible defense, he would have possibly led us to a championship.
As for pouring it on. It is the fourth preseason game and hardly any starters will play for the Rams. I really doubt they would risk a whole season on a grudge.

Definately
think he will be greeted warmly, he should thats for sure. We had some amazing times with Trent and he is a great guy, absolutely no reason for him to be treated differently…

He'll get a warm reception
Out of respect and a bit of pity for the old man.

More on Booing
Trent got booed a lot his first season. I remember a lot of people (myself included) calling for his head.
Then, sometime during that season (2001), he made an openfield block on a play that sprang the runner for a touchdown. I don’t remember the game, and I’m not sure who had the ball (Priest or a WR reverse), but I remember the block. He leveled the guy.
I swore at that moment to never say a bad word about him again.
Trent went on to be a great QB for us. It’s sad that the trait I loved most about him is what hurt him in Miami. I wish only the best to him. He was a class act in KC despite the welcome he initially received in 2001.

it's sad
that a block much like the one you mentioned is what gave him serious concussion #2 at Miami.
I always liked Trent, I admire his heart and leadership. He seems like a great guy all around. I wish him well and for God’s sake I hope he avoids any further concussions.

Ya know it is sad
That a 215 pound QB would throw himself in harms way for the better of the team, but a player that received the biggest contract in Chiefs history is just now learning to block. Not that Trent was under paid, just shows his heart and dedication.
