Because Carolina Is About As Bad As It Gets For Judging Wide Receiver Talent
Aside from Steve Smith, they’re horrible. In the last four years they have populated their roster with not one, not two, but three former USC wide receivers (Kerry Colbert, Dwayne Jarrett, Keyshawn Johnson). Only one of whom has ever done anything in the pros (Keyshawn) and they got him after he was washed-up. Jarrett was such a waste that Steve Smith punked him out in front of the beat reporters last year for apparently never setting foot inside the film room to study tapes or showing much of a work ethic at all. Colbert at least seems to try, but just doesn’t appear to have the ability…so of course Denver signed him right away.
Next thing you know, Carolina will be desperately trying to land Mike Williams…but only if he promises to get even fatter so they can keep their fans at least interested in the trainwreck that is the 2008 Panthers by making him the first 280-pound wide receiver to play in the NFL.
Supporting the lesser of two evils is still supporting something evil.

he dropped some weight in Tennessee... but still
they dropped him like a brick. Apparently he still struggled with weight and conditioning.
I just don’t get it with some of these guys…. wasted potential.

What's Even Worse
Is that the Lions invested the number 10 overall pick in him. Geez, Matt Millen sucks. Detroit’s one of the teams where hiring today’s version of Carl Peterson would be a major step up.
