FB Oliver Hoyte and DE Trevor Johnson Cut
The roster currently sits at 81 players. It will be trimmed to 75 (76 with our international player) by tomorrow afternoon.
Don't be surprised if new players are added as well.

Kind of surprised about Hoyte
Considering out situation at LB. I mean, you knew the guy was in trouble when he switched positions, but I guess they didn’t feel they had the time to mess around with a guy thats getting used to the position again.
Expect the Chiefs to pick up a LB or two that other teams cut.

The Hoyte cut
surprises me as well. From what I’d seen in games, he looked to be playing fairly well.

He was one of Gun's guys I thought
Just goes to show you how little we really do know!

+1.
Gretz talked about him like he was a lock to make the team, saying how much Gun loved him. Guess not so much.
As far as Johnson goes, he never really got to play because of the concussion problem. Bummer too, because he sounded like he could have been a decent depth guy at DE.
Oh well, I bet Jason Parker makes the team.

So was LB Oliver Hoyte cut, too?
Or was it just FB Oliver Hoyte?

One in the same.
I’m very surprised they cut Hoyte.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh....
So does that eliminate 2 spots on our way to 75?
(Go ahead. Somebody just slap me now. Wouldn’t blame ya. You were too kind, Direckshun. ha)
Yep, considering the state of our LB group, I’m surprised he’s out right now. They must already have a bead on a couple new signings, or some of the regulars will be healed enough for us to make it through the St. Louis game. Or I suppose they can let Morgan loose and play a quasi-LB if need be. But McGraw is hurt, too.

Good news for Mike Cox, though
In a way, don’t you think #42? You haven’t had a specific thread to show a lot of love for your buddy the real Mr. Cox, but things are looking good for him, I’d say. I think his blocking, receiving and running all look pretty good at this stage of the season.

This may sound odd coming from a guy... but
I like Cox
He has played well this preseason so far as I can tell. He has definitely outplayed the other FB’s on the roster. I will actually be shocked if he doesn’t end up our starting FB.

Mike Cox Is A Good Player
I would be glad to see him make the roster.
I choose not to use double entendres to express my appreciation of football players, however. :)

Cox
I think Cox can start this year but he has had many problem’s with his shoulders.

Mike's shoulder is fine
After his last surgery, which was between his junior and senior year at GT, his shoulder is working at about 99%. He played in pain for 2 years in college before the surgery, so I don’t think you’ll hear him say anything about that shoulder, unless his arm falls off!!!! Let’s hope it stays healthy for his sake and ours.

Draft
The chiefs were on the phone with mike in round 4 and told him he was not going to be drafted because of his shoulder.
How do you know a lot about Mike?

Known him a long time
Let’s just say I’m very close to his family and I’ve known him his whole life. Hope to see him on Sundays.

Hmmmm...
“Known him his whole life”…intriguing comments from millerhunter. If I were a conspiracy theorist I’d start wondering what Mike Cox’s favorite brand of beer was. :)

Let's talk football
This is a forum for football. It doesn’t matter who knows who, and how you know him. The bottom line is Mike Cox is a great all around guy and he’s giving 110% to make it in the NFL. Let’s hope the cheifs see him the same way we do.

That's Not A Denial :)
But since I use a pseudonym too, far be it from me to try and out anyone else, so fair enough. We’re both in agreement, though, that Cox would be a good addition to the roster and I’d be happy to see him make it.
And that’s meant as a knock against Chris Manderino who was kind enough to grant Arrowhead Pride an interview.

Don't worry about those next 8 or nice plays, BJ...
"With me," Sams said, "things like that don’t happen too often. But if I make (one) mistake, now I’ve got to make eight, nine good plays."
In my opinion, BJ gets whacked.

Any thoughts on other cuts?
It always surprises me who stays and who goes!
