Rivalries, Fans and Smack Talk - An Invitation
Greetings Chiefs Fans! Your friendly, neighborhood Broncos Blogger over at MileHighReport here. I posted the following post on MHR as a set of guidelines for any fan of the Broncos, or any other team, that wants to talk some smack in 2008. Consider it an open invitation to visit MHR and get involved with some inter-divisional smack talk. These rules are by no means meant to circumvent what Chris is doing here at AP, though every interaction I have had with Chris and everyone here at AP has been first-class. I am simply looking to make all of you aware of how I'd like things to run at MHR in regards to smack talk and rivalry debate. The guideline below work both ways, meaning I expect readers of MHR to treat your with the same respect, whether it is here at AP or over at MHR.
1. Keep It Business, Never Personal - This is the most important rule. So important, in fact, I am going to post it twice. I am all for good-natured smack talk about each others team's, players, logos, colors, cheerleaders, cities, etc. What I do not want to see are personal attacks at specific people on this site, either "friend or foe". This site was founded on the premise that it would be a safe haven for positive talk and comment about the Broncos and NFL in general. I want to keep it that way. Have an opinion, debate, disagree and move on. DO NOT ATTACK ANYONE ON THIS SITE or you will get banned. If you want to have flaming wars with other fans there are plenty of message boards that can help you with that.

2. Keep The Smack Talk In Fan-Posts - The Fan-Post section is for you, the fans. If you want to come over and talk some trash during the season that's fine, just keep it over here. Some visitors to the site simply want to talk about the broncos and not get involved with fans from other teams. They need to be able to have a choice in the matter. Comments within posts on the Front Page are to remain on-topic. Use the Fan-Posts to create Smack-Talk posts and comments. This goes for fans of both sides. Again, refer to Rule #1. Personal Attacks in either location will not be tolerated.
Now, that doesn't mean a rival fan cannot comment in a Front Page post. Feel free. Just keep it on topic with the post and above the belt.
See, that wasn't so bad!! I want this site to have fun this season, and I think the interaction between fans provides an excellent opportunity for conversation and debate. Just try and keep it clean and never, ever, ever let it get personal! If anyone has any questions or comments about this policy, please email me -- milehighreport@gmail.com
Good Luck in 2008, except for 2 weeks, of course! :)
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.

MHR has a great community
So I expect plenty of banter in the coming season. Thanks TSG.

That sounds like fun,
but it brings up a question I’ve been wondering for a while: why don’t the Chargers (or the Jets) have an SBN page?

Great Question!
I’m guessing they’re too slow to realize they suck. :)

They're hard to find
Good bloggers are hard to find. The hallmark of SBNation has been quality writing – not KC Star message board crap.

Thanks for posting this Guru
We don’t have a Chargers or Jets blog because we haven’t found the right writer yet.
For some reason, barely anyone blogs about the Chargers. We had a Jets blogger but he had to stop because of other issues in his life.

"barely anyone blogs about the Chargers"
they strike me as having a larger than normal percentage of fair-weather fans…

Theres too much stuff to do in San Diego
that doesn’t have to do with following the Chargers. How can somebody live like that?
Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words—"mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

guru, thanks for the post and the new rivalry medium
But, if I were to post smack about the donkeys on MHR, I would have to bath in acid for week then foot myself until I was worthy of participating on AP again. :)
Honestly, awesome post, man. Yay, rivalries!

Those two weeks you mentioned
You are speaking of our bye week and the first week of the playoffs when we get the automatic bye?
