5 Questions for Dolphins Fans
Ah, yes. The weekly exchange of questions among our Sports Blog Nation brethren.
This week we'll be doing a question exchange with the crew at The Phinsider in preparation for the Chiefs/Dolphins match up this Saturday.
So, what do you want to know about the Dolphins?
I'm reserving at least one question related to Boomer Grigsby, who is the starting fullback for Miami this year. Maybe something along the lines of how many sports bars have the readers of The Phinsider seen Grigsby at.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.

What is Pennington's future role with the team?
How long does management plan to keep him around? Is he in it for the long haul (despite his age) or is he a stop gap until Beck/Henne get ready?

Bridge to Henne – 1 to 2 years unless Penny gets hurt.

Are Derek Hagan and Ted Ginn Jr. the real deal at WR?
There was a lot of hubbub about their sub-par training camps (lots of dropped balls) but I did watch a good chunk of their last preseason game, and it looked like Hagan was doing a good job, as well as Ginn Jr.
Do you think these guys are a long term solution at WR? I know they at least hope Ginn Jr. is considering the investment. I’d like to hear from someone who follows them closely but can still provide objective criticism.

If Ginn isn't an above average kick returner
Then he isn’t worth it.
He’ll never be better than a #2 as far as receiving goes which I don’t think was too far off of what Dolphins management was thinking when they selected him 9th overall.
Interesting question to which I would like an honest response from Dolphins management regarding the selection of Ginn over Brady Quinn.

Their draft last year was terrible
1st – Ginn Jr. – I still don’t understand the Ginn over Quinn selection. Starting WR
2nd (1) – John Beck – I hear they were shopping Beck around for a 4th round pick. Third string currently.
2nd (2) – Samson Satele – starting Center
3rd – Lorenzo Booker was traded to the Eagles
4th – Paul Soliai – Backup DT behind Jason Ferguson
6th (1) – Reagan Mauia – Backup FB behind Boomer Grigsby
6th (2) – Drew Mormino – OT – cut – not on a roster
7th (1) – Kelvin Smith – LB – cut – not on a roster
7th (2) – Brandon Fields – starting Punter
7th (3) – Abraham Wright – DE – cut – not on a roster
So Ginn Jr., Satele and Fields are starting… Ginn is unproven and Fields is a punter.
Mauia and Soliai are backups…
the rest are gone. I don’t know if it was Cameron’s fault… but that draft was unfortunate for that franchise.
Suddenly our picks look a lot better. Medlock is the only goner for us. Allan hasn’t shown much yet, but the rest are solid – Bowe, McBride, Tyler, Kolby-Wan and Taylor. That goes double if McBride, Tyler and Taylor end up as permanent starters.

No sense
in loading up on 6th and 7th rounders if they’re getting cut anyway.

Yep
if you have extra picks in the lower rounds you want to make them count or package them together and trade up. I think we have done pretty well in Rounds 6 & 7 under Herm…

Rookies.
Well Chris, as a Draftnik I just have to know how their rookies are working out.
I’ve heard Jason Taylor is struggling with speedrushers. Has he shown improvement? Are Fins fans taking to Henne better than Beck? What’s the difference there? How about their defensive ends, Langford and Merling? OT Shawn Murphy seemed like an incredible reach in round 4 — how’s he looked?
When you look at their draft, their spread was horrible. They just loaded up on several positions.
1 QB, 3 OTs, 3 DEs, 2 RBs. Has the depth at other positions been lousy due to Parcells focus on just a few positions?

"Jason Taylor"?
Of course, I didn’t mean JT, I meant Jake Long.

KC's spread in the Draft.
Just for comparison to Parcells’:
1 DT
2 CB
1 S
2 TE
1 RB
2 WR
1 OT
1 DE
