Brodie
i dont know what im more sick of espn only talking about brett favre, or chiefs nation talking bad about brodie....now i know there is plenty of good talk about brodie going around this year in OTA's and camp and im glad to hear it ima croyle fan myself.
I think people need to give him a chance before they judge him. And i really REALLY want to slap the @#$! out of jason whitlock. The guy is so hard-headed
But what he said about Brodie the other nite couldnt have been farther from the truth, So what if his longest pass was only 7 yards....maybe no one down the field was open...? Yes, preseason is important to an extent but i would much rather see croyle make the 7 yard pass than see him throw the ball into tight coverage for a possible turn over....isnt that progression? Yes croyle is going to have to make plays this year but i dont want to see forcing things for no reason, in a preseason game
i think croyle has shown alot of maturity, and is still going to have to show alot more hes going to have growing pains, but lets give him a shot. Im excited for our season and to watch all our young players grow this year.
i think hes got all the tools and a hell of an arm
I just want to see what you guys think about croyle?
good or bad
i want to hear it

Not a big enough sample
He can’t really be judged until the end of this season. Last year was a disaster on ALL fronts (no line, Larry Johnson, no depth of any kind). The starting quarterback gets most of the credit for success and most of the blame for failure. Most quarterbacks would have been in trouble last season under the circumstances. That being said, now that the line is going to approach average this year (at least when you look at the starters) I think this season will be more indicative of what he can do. If the line holds up he’ll have time to look downfield. If not, not even Brady or Manning would be able to function from the seat of their pants.
I think the man can play. If he does ok this year he should only improve from there. If he plays like he did last season they will have to move on.

Schemes
I want to reiterate my theory on Croyle, that being: that with his starts last year and with his play so far in the preseason it is fairly consistent that he plays well typically against the Cover-2 defense (the one he is most familiar with) and does not do well against more obscure schemes.
His game against Indy, I thought he had arrived and had taken control of the team offensively, but he regressed the next week. Same has happened recently.
I DO, however, believe he is getting better…the point has been made that he made throws the other night into the stands that he would have tried to squeeze into a reciever last year and been interceptions possibly. He is learning how to be an NFL QB.

Croyle
I’ll defend Brodie from what I think are unreasonable attacks on him, but it is true that he has yet to prove himself as a legitimate NFL QB. I don’t care what anyone says, he has handled himself well in the preseason so far, but it is just the preseason. He needs to prove that he’s the guy us Pro-Croyle supporters think he can be. Until then, its always going to just be a difference of opinion.
As for Whitlcok, as Halfbreed so eloquently said on another board: “He’s the kid that sat in the back of the class making fart noises on his arm.”
Whitlock will say anything that draws attention to himself, no matter how ridiculous it is.

Bro D
I believe he will turn out to be a good NFL qb, he just needs what he’s most recently gotten; a line and a reliable receiver or two…and yeah the Whitlock feelings are mutual.

David Carr
I really think that Brodie has all of the tools, intangibles, etc. to be a good qb in the nfl. However, looking back so did Houston’s 1st rd. pick David Carr (who pretty much failed 99% due to their weak line). He got sacked like every once every 9.4 play (2nd most out of any qb). When judging Brodie we need to consider his sacks per play ratio. Hopefully this o-line will be “average” and we can get a fair assessment of him.

Brodie
whitlock is a fool and all the Croyle bashers should give the guy a chance. Our offense was old last year, and with Roaf, shields & LJ gone what did we think was going to happen. All i’ve heard out of training camp is that he has been doing real well, and not making the mental mistakes like last year. I agree we will know what we have at the end of the season. But I am excited about all the weapons we are going to have, and I cant wait to see them florish
