In Which I Return, Not To Bury Herm Edwards, But To Praise Him
Hey, everybody. For those of you who don't know me, I posted a ton last year on Arrowhead Pride under the name MAWK and look forward to more of the same pointless debates with DJ over whether or not Herm Edwards sucks this season. If you're new but have been running the place since my departure, welcome, and please welcome me in. We're all family here in Chiefs nation.
For those wondering where the hell I went, I'm a big fan of the NBA, and started writing a few places on it, including an SBNation site about the draft and D-League. Hence, the new moniker.
Okay, enough of that riff-raff. For my first real fanpost of the new season on the new Arrowhead Pride with my new name, I'll start with something completely different for me.
I've come to say good things about Herm Edwards. Please give yourselves a moment to recover from the shock.
When draft day came around, I was stuck with family. It was unbearable, wondering what we were doing, how things were coming. When I found out, I was stunned, amazed, flabbergasted.
We absolutely kicked its ass up and down the floor, which you no doubt already know.
Combine that with the Gailey hiring which looks better every day, a more progressive offensive mind with a strict adherence to the discipline that Herm demands, and the slight adjustments in attitude, and I have to say, I couldn't be more thrilled with our head coach going into this season.
We're going to be terrible. I mean, absolutely horrible. If we win five games, I'll be blown away by our progress, if we win 8, I'm naming my next pet Herm. But more important than the wins is the progression of players. We have The Show. We have Swamp Thing. We have Larry Johnson looking like he's actually interested in playing football. We have Kolby Smith ready behind him, and Jamaal Charles ready behind him. We have young talent, new talent, exciting talent, and Bernard Pollard to entertain us all the while. There will be Hermisms that are pointless and inane, there will be losses that will pile up. There will be disappointments and setbacks, but there will also, hopefully, be progress. And once and for all this season, we find out where we are at quarterback, and whether we go with Croyle, or go out and get a new guy.
Well done, Herm. I'm actually going to give you the benefit of the doubt till December.
It's going to be rough in parts. It's going to be interesting. But it'll be ours. The season is upon us.
Go Chiefs.
....PS: Please waive Damon Huard so I don't have any more nightmares about him starting. K THX BAI.

Holy Crap!
MAWK is back and better than ever!
When you started out by saying you came to praise Herm Edwards, I was thinking praise him in the way Jason Whitlock praises the Chiefs right before spitting in their face. If MAWK (I mean, Matt) is excited, watch out world, we must be going places!
Seriously, its great to have you back. Hopefully we will all be entirely too pleasantly surprised to have pointless debates…. Ah, who am I kidding?

Aah damnit!
I would always look forward to reading the very sarcastic and hard to understand Mawk rants!(just kiddin) DJ, Matt get to debating it has been way to long, and quite frankly DJ blows me away in debates! Hell UCrawford does a good job in the debates with DJ. Well anyway go Chiefs!
