Excited for the Preseason Home Opener!

I posted this article on my site too (kcchiefsfootball.com)but I thought I would share my excitement with you guys as well.  Let me know how you guys feel.

I don't know about you guys, but I really excited to get back to Arrowhead for the first home game of the season, even though it is a preseason game. It has been a long layoff and I need my Arrowhead fix.

After my Jayhawks won the National Championship (Rock Chalk!) it has been pretty slow sports-wise for me... Sure I have got the Royals, who are doing fairly decent this year, but for me that just doesn't compare to the high energy that College Basketball and especially Chiefs Football bring to the table.

Even though the Chiefs might not do too great this year I am still excited because game day is an experience... it's not just "going to a game". Got to get up at the butt crack of dawn, drive to Arrowhead, smell the BBQ in the air, put the BBQ in my mouth, and have a couple drinks. Then comes the game.

And yes I did say Chiefs might not do too great this year, but with that said I think we will surprise a lot of people. I don't know about going to the playoffs or anything like that, but going .500 wouldn't surprise me one bit. In fact anywhere between 5-11 to 9-7 wouldn’t surprise me and that’s what you get with a young team, you just don’t know for sure what will happen.

One of the cool things about having a young team is that (at least at first) they don’t know any better. They don’t know they are not supposed to have a chance to beat the Patriots; they just go out there and give it all they got and try to win. For that I applaud them and I will be there cheering them on in the sea of red! GO CHIEFS!
