Since he returned to Kansas City in 2004, the Chiefs defense has had a problem with trust, especially at the linebacker position. "It’s the most important ingredient in any defense, trusting what the guys next to you are going to do." Cunningham said. "When you don’t trust, you can’t succeed."
Right now, Johnson, Pat Thomas and Demorrio Williams are playing linebacker the way Cunningham wants. They were able to take that from the practice field to the playing field last Thursday against the Bears.

It’s hard to tell, because Chicago’s offense was so pathetic.
Arizona has a much more competent offense, so it’ll put our defense to the test.
Yeah
I heard Leinart reverted back to his USC form last week.

So....
you’re saying he got caught with more drunk teenage chicks?
To the point though, AZ should provide a better test, at least in the passing game.

Arizona's Offense
Edge Jame wasn’t all that great last season and he’s at the age where running backs drop off fast, so I suspect that means that Arizona will be throwing a lot. Guess we’ll see what our new cornerbacks have to offer.

He was good enough
But he’ll only decline from here on out. He turns 30 sometime this month.

Agreed
Especially since he wasn’t a burner to begin with and speed’s usually the first thing to go. He’s got less for athleticism to fall back on than other backs. And the fairly poor quality of his run-blocking the last couple of years hasn’t been much of a help.

For the salary cap retards here
can someone break down what will happen if we cut Napolean Harris? Thanks in advance…
At this point, I can assure you nothing bad will happen.
The Chiefs are so far under the salary cap, nothing severe would occur.
Napoleon Harris is likely to get cut anyway, according to Gretz.
That's what we get
for picking up an ex Raider

June 1st
Since we are past june 1st I think the accelerated portion will go onto next years cap. It would be the remainder of his signing bonus. eg. 4 mil sign bonus for a 4 year contract equals 1 mil a year. If the contract is terminated after the 2nd year there is still 2 mil left to account for in the next seasons cap.
For Harris' Deal
Per Rotoworld, he received a $7.5 million signing bonus on a six year contract, meaning that if we cut him we’ll take a $5 million hit on the last four years plus a prorated portion of the $1.5 million for this season. Only thing I’m not sure about is, does this money count against the cap this season or next? This season wouldn’t be a problem because we’re so far under. Next season might be more problematic.
