Turk McBride replaced Alfonso Boone as the starting left defensive end in practice. Edwards stopped short of saying that the change is permanent, but he made it clear the battle is on.
"There are a lot of positions still open on this football team, a lot of competition going on," Edwards said. "We want to make sure we get the guys in the right positions that want to do it the way we want to do it. If you do it that way, you’ve got a great chance to play for us."

Turk is the Key to a great D
In order for the Chiefs to Maximize their potential on Defense Turk McBride Must be the starting Defensive end. If Turk is at one end that allows the best interior line man for a year ago Alfonso Boone to move back inside along Big Glen.. Many people forget Boone got alot of push up front last year which allowed Jared to get all those sacks.
With Push up front the linebacking core and Db’s will have time and opportunity to get some picks…
I think this can be a top 10 D this year if they get enough push up front.
