The Chiefs will sift through many kickoff and punt return candidates as they hope to improve what was one of the NFL's worst return games. They will eventually look at Kevin Robinson, Will Franklin, Jamaal Charles, Jeff Webb, Maurice Price, Maurice Leggett, Rashad Barksdale and Dantrell Savage in either one job or both.

There's no doubt about the guy they'd like to be their next Tamarick Vanover or Dante Hall. And that's B.J. Sams, once one of the league's best returners and now trying to reclaim his career after injuries cut short each of his last two seasons with Baltimore.

Isn't this

exactly what they tried to do with that one guy last year who was absolutely terrible? What was his name? Jeez, it’s right on the tip of my tongue… :p

At any rate, wil the Chiefs ever really learn that taking a teams castaways isn’t the answer? I realize they had to do something in FA, but they didn’t go after anyone pre-draft, and they’re picking from the bones of a dead cow like vultures in the desert. I am hoping Franklin or Charles gets the nod in the return game. A guy with injury history isn’t exactly the type I see “holding on to the ball” or “taking a hit without coughing it up.”

have you seen my baseball?

His situation is so close to Drummond

It’s a little scary. I’m rooting for Robinson on punts, but am not basing it on much. Add Charles of even Savage for kick offs.

At least Sams is here for the entire camp

in case he doesn’t pan out. Drummond was brought in at the end of camp and didn’t get the chance to stink up the place so he could be sent on his way and we could recall Phinesee. I just hope the Coaches can see a better picture of who they might zero in on before they waste too much time on any one person. Maybe Sams will shine, who knows, but kickoff time is getting closer everyday.

Looking back, I wonder what my point was?

Whatever happened to Phinisee?

Didn’t he reappear with another team’s PS?

Nobody wanted him

He was another Hard Knocks star like Sippio.

He was on the Dallas practice squad for a couple weeks and then they let him go and I dont know that he caught on with another team.

He was out there for the Chiefs or any other team to pick up at any time and they didnt want him. It tells you something when the professionals see something wrong the fans dont.

Phinisee

He was the only one in the preseason that generated any excitement in the return game. I guess we felt it was important last year to go with a proven veteran?

Ke - vin - Ke - vin

I really missed the excitement every time the ball was about to be punted or kicked and the whole stadium chanted Dan – te – Dan – te. Last year, that seemed like the best time to go to the concession stand. When we drafted Kevin, I got the feeling he might have that kind of potential. He cerrtainly put on a show in college.

You're killing me man!
Last year, that seemed like the best time to go to the concession stand.

Hilarious (and depressing)

Let's try K-Rob

Kevin Robinson was a stud at Utah State. He’s the NCAA career all purpose yards per play record holder and will be a big play threat whenever he touches the ball.

I strive to be the person my dog thinks I am.

Have I mentioned before I hate Adam Teicher?
There’s no doubt about the guy they’d like to be their next Tamarick Vanover or Dante Hall. And that’s B.J. Sams

Now how do you figure that there is “no doubt” the Chiefs want BJ Sams to win the return job? The fact they drafted Robinson tells me that may not be true.

I just HATE how Teicher presents his own opinions as the thinking of the team. I think the team can’t stand him and wont talk to him and thats why he has to make stuff up.

No doubt about it

The Chiefs had no other use for the 182nd pick of the draft even though Sams was on board.
Speaking of boards…

Adam gets his facts in writing, straight from the ouija board. No doubt about it. Sunny D reporting.
(not “commenting”)
