Don't Worry About Dorsey...
I don't know how most of you feel about the first reports of Glenn Dorsey's abilities at training camp. If you have not heard or read, he's getting eaten up by Waters and Stalling, and often finds himself being double teamed by the LG and C.
But I tell you this, do not get worried. There could be a number of reasons why:
1. Many DT struggles with the transition from college to pros. One comparison that comes to mind is that of Warren Sapp who struggled in his first year, then thrived henceforth.
2. Getting Acquainted with the speed, techniques, and terminology.
3. Psychological aspects of the transition from college to pros. There's alot of things that could be going through his head such as his recently signed multi-year contract.
Give Dorsey sometime and you'll find that he will succeed in this league. Some people strive during games. They just seem to kick it into another gear when they play a real game. I can tell you from personal experience that when you have fans screaming and you're wearing the real uniform that somethings clicks and you return to form.
Give Dorsey Time...

I'm not worried.
He was the best defensive college player overall in my opinion. Could have easily been #1 overall… This is what, his 2nd practice back? Just a little rusty I think. He’ll get it going after a week back in the groove… everyone said he did awesome during OTAs.
Agree
we’ve seen what he can do in college, and some of those offensive linemen he played against then will be starting in the NFL this year or next…
Yeah
Those were SEC lineman. Pretty big time.

It seems like
The SEC and the Big 10 are where a LOT of the hosses on the interior O-line come from…
Thanks for bringing this up
because I was admitedly a little worried after reading about Stallings. However, Tre is now considered and veteran I suppose and GD being stopped by one of the league’s best guards isn’t anything to slouch at.
Warren Sapp
Rookie Season (1995): 16 tkls, 3 sacks, 1 INT
2nd year (1996): 41 tckls, 9 sacks
I’m not sure anyone was worried about him being tossed around by Brian Waters. If anything, I want him to be going against BW for the fact that he’ll learn how Pro-Bowl caliber players play. He’s going to pull double teams, and he needs to get used to it. He’s a mammoth of a man.
have you seen my baseball?
