Around SBN: Hugh Douglas Admits To Stealing From Jaguars

Shout out to all the fans!

I'm new to the site and glad to have found a great Cheifs spot. I look foward to enjoying it. Very glad to hear about the 1st round pick getting signed. Carl did a good job with that one, gotta give him credit. Now if Dorsey gets signed within a reasonable time(hopefully soon), we'll be looking pretty good. I'm really hoping our offensive line shapes up well. We need them to perform.

Hoping Bowe is ready to have a phenominal year. We need a couple other receivers to step up big also. I know we are rebuilding but I believe even with our young talent we can have at least a .500 season or better. Any thoughts?

Welcome!

But heres a question for all.

If we finish below .500 can we say we were rebuilding this year?

or

If we finish above .500 can we say we were retooling?

Well,

If we finish below .500 it really won’t be that unexpected in light of the youth on the team. But if we happen to finish at or above .500, then our youngsters and their talent and ability to learn the system would be a credit to them and a big plus for the team and the fans.

Welcome

As for finishing above .500, I think more than likely we will only win around 6 games. However, I am really hoping for our team to explode this year with all the youth, much like San Diego did. Granted, we are still a little ways away from being where San Diego was but you can always dream!

As for Bowe, everybody here loves him. (If someone disagrees, feel free to correct me please)

Welcome

I don’t want a .500 season. We aren’t contenders so I’ll take the higher draft pick in ‘09.

Not too high of a pick I hope.

I think if we end up 7-9ish we will get a top 15 player, which is good talent at a relatively decent price. We can’t afford to keep paying top 5 draft picks

Another New Guy

Just came across this site and have been enjoying reading all your thoughts so I signed up. I’m glad to know I’m not the only Chiefs geek that has been downloading Soren’s podcast all summer long and keeping up to speed as I await football season. My wife and I are leaving for River Falls on Tuesday and we can’t wait! Never been up to camp before so we are excited to go see the guys practice and scrimmage the Viks too.

I don’t think .500 is out of the question. I like the looks of Darling, Cottam and Franklin to name a few. But I think it all will come down to how well this newly re-tooled O-Line plays together, protects Brodie and makes some holes for the backs. I’ve done my share of Carl-bashing…but as I read on another post, I do agree that we need to give him some credit for getting everyone up to Albert signed before camp. Those O-Lineman need to establish some cohesion.

I wish you could have

kept up with the number of newcomers to the site since last season. Makes for good bragging rights on your behalf.

Yeah

Another site numbers update before you leave for India would be fun to see.

Me too

Everyone had to re-register on the new site. So we lost all of those.

I’ll include some stats in the birthday post tomorrow.
