Great News

H/T Primetime

Well we’ve got less than 48 hours to get Albert in, but the way things are going I think CP and Thum will get the deal done.

If They Get Just Albert Done Before Camp

I’ll say that they’ve done a great job signing their draft picks this offseason. They had a lot of them. I’d rather they sign Albert first, obviously, since he’s got to learn a new position and could use all the time possible in camp. Dorsey will be fine if he’s a little late (but not too late).

If Dorsey misses more than a couple of weeks of camp, though, my opinion of Peterson will of course start to sour again :)

Also

I give some credit to CP and Thum at this point. They have successfully negotiated 9 contracts up till now and have a little less than 48 hours before they leave for camp. I have no clue about Merritt, but getting Albert in before they leave and signing Dorsey during the early part of camp would be a great success in my book.

I'm not worried about Merritt

I won’t even count him really. It doesn’t sound like he’s going to be much of a factor.

If He Can't Practice At All Right Now

I doubt he’ll ever suit up for us. Not a big deal, though. Wonder if it’s a lingering injury from last year?

Does anyone know

if he was injured, when he was drafted? I only ask this to ask the question, was he a risk during the Draft? With so many UDFA’s we might could have secured another person with a Draft pick.

There Wasn't Anyone Who Really Mattered Available

It’s a seventh round draft pick. Anyone who would be of use to us was probably going to be available as a UDFA at that point. Merritt was so nondescript that ESPN had a blank player page for him (no joke).
