Veteran safety Greg Wesley’s first career foray into free agency didn’t last long.
A league source tells us that Wesley has signed a one-year deal with the Oakland Raiders, only days after he was cut by the Chiefs.

Now we look even dumber
Passing on trading Wesley last year because we didn’t want to lose him to a division rival. So we sit on him and have a terrible season anyway. It was inconsequential.
Now we just release him and he walks to a division rival immediately.
In hindsight, it looks like a blunder to me. Oh well.

Yup
We could have had a fourth rounder for him in this year’s draft. Plenty of good players available in the fourth round. Now we’ve got nothing to show for him and he’s still playing for a division rival. Absolutely bone-headed move by Peterson knocking down that trade.
Supporting the lesser of two evils is still supporting something evil.

PFT even cracked a joke at the Faders' expense!
We don’t know the financial terms yet. If he was paid like some of the other players whom the Raiders have signed since the 2007 season ended, we predict that Wesley received something in the neighborhood of $14 million.
One of two things will happen –
1) Wesley will absolutely murder Jeff Webb on a crossing route, and Franklin will become the #2 WR
2) Wesley will attempt to absolutely murder Jeff Webb on a crossing route, completely whiff, and Webb will score the game-winning TD at Oakland.
