Glenn Dorsey

Just a couple of questions i had, and was wondering what the chiefs world out there thought. How much respect do you think Glenn "SwampThing" Dorsey will get from the start of the season? double teams? i really dont know who else they would. It would be nice to see dorsey and boone taking up the middle  Is Dorsey going to be to camp on time? Last one what kind of sack numbers he'll put up?

First post let me know what im doing wrong..

Good post - Welcome!

Boone, from what I’ve heard will be the LDE.

I think Dorsey will get respect. Now whether that’s because of his college resume or a lack of competition at the DT spot remains to be seen.

Dorsey, I doubt will be at camp on time. In fact, I’d be happy if he made the last two pre-season games. With two first rounders this year, the Chiefs are probably pretty weary of what kind of money they’ll be spending (especially when one of them is a LT, the second highest paid position in the game).

Sack numbers? That’s a crap shoot. I’d be pretty happy with 5 or 6 I guess, but with a DT it’s more about the pressures and knock downs than the sacks.

Pressures

Yes, part of Swamp Thang’s success will be measure in the number of total team sacks, including ends, DJ and Flowers, because he disrupted the play or flushed the QB into the open.

Ridiculous

who would have ever thought 15 years ago, that this sentence would be true

especially when one of them is a LT, the second highest paid position in the game

I understand why, but some of the great offensive linemen from the past must be peeved for missing out on that payday :)

The Blind Side

There’s a great book called “The Blind Side” by Michael Lewis that talks a lot about how the Left Tackle became the second highest paid position in football. It starts with the four seconds that ended Joe Theismann’s career.

Yep

Second highest paid protects the highest paid’s blindside.

That’s a great, great book.

Almost as good as Moneyball

I was pretty impressed by what I saw out of Boone against my team the Packers last year. Tamba Hali should really only get better playing next to Glenn Dorsey and I have always like Derrick Johnson. Like the Bills, I think your team has some pretty likeable guys, and I will definitely be routing for all of them.
My condolences on Greg Wesley.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words—"mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.
