GREG WESLEY RELEASED!
League sources have told Pro Football Talk that the Kansas City Chiefs have released free safety Greg Wesley. The 9th year safety, who has played his entire career to this point with the Chiefs, appeared in 15 games last season, started one and made 30 tackles. The Chiefs’ 3rd round pick in 2000 has 29 career interceptions. Wesley, who is repped by Drew Rosenhaus, is expected to receive interest from a number of teams in the free agent market.- Pro Football Talk

All of a sudden, drafting DaJuan Morgan makes a lot more sense.

Yep
He wanted out for a long time.
Okay. So I made the joke about Wesley wanting a trade in today’s post. And then he’s released.
Yesterday, I mentioned the lack of movement with rookie contracts. And walla, we have two more signed.
What do you want the Chiefs to do next? Just ask me and I’ll post it.

Apparently...
... I’ve found someone else who is as addicted to AP and PFTalk as I am.
As for you Chris…
Bout time you started joking around about Albert and Dorsey signing…
Get on it!

Make a joke about Favre and LeCharles Bentley signing with us. If it comes true time then Chris’ third miracle will get him cannonized.

Maybe Bentley
But I wouldn’t touch Favre. Too many picks and too old to learn a new system.

We should of kept him...
for at least a couple of pre-season games. Some team could lose their safety to injury and we could of showcased Wesley for a trade, a 7th rounder for crying out loud. Whatever its not that big of deal i guess.

We did that last year
And only Denver bit. I’d rather not trade him at all than send him to a division rival.

Not to mention
that he was told that he would be released a while ago, and we just sat on him until now.
I don’t have a problem with the release. I liked Wesley, especially IF he managed to connect with one of his jarring hits. I am glad that we are moving on though… he obviously wasn’t happy with his situation here.
Good luck G. Wizzle.

the Donkeys were ready to give us a 4th round pick for him!

I bet he signs with Denver to replace and/or back up John Lynch when he is ready to go
