Former Nebraska football players Tommie Frazier and Will Shields are among this year's 10 inductees for the Nebraska Black Sports Hall of Fame. Frazier helped lead the Huskers to national championships in 1994 and 1995, the first two titles during Tom Osborne head-coaching era at Nebraska. The former quarterback later served as an assistant coach at Baylor University and as Doane College's head coach. Shields made a name for himself in the National Football League after leaving Nebraska in 1992. Shields was a 12-time Pro Bowl selection for the Kansas City Chiefs.
