Greg Wesley was a Chiefs safety when he unexpectedly showed up at Friday’s minicamp. He was still a Chiefs safety when he walked off the field.
Beyond that time, Wesley said, he had no idea.
"I don’t know what’s going on," he said, walking toward the players’ parking lot. "I’m a Chief right now."

Kinda feel sorry for him
I don’t know what I’d do in his position. Perhaps he brought some of this one himself, but it seems like a Peterson waffle. If Peterson ends up getting a draft choice at some point, I guess I’ll chalk it up to business and then think that Peterson did a good job for his organization. At some point, though, even though everyone involved calls the NFL a “business,” these are human lives involved. And an organization will get a reputation for being a good place to work - treated fairly - and a poor place to work. That reputation eventually has a hard dollar cost when it comes to contract negotiations. Just like any business.
Strangely
He seems to be handling this situation in a fairly mature manner. It probably doesn’t hurt his stock on the market to show that he understands the business side of things, and is honoring his contract regardless of what the organization is saying/doing to him.
I’ve never been a huge Wesley fan, but I feel like he’s getting the poop end of the stick here.
